presumably not term time only?

formerbabe · 04/10/2018 17:46

? I'm confused.

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 04/10/2018 17:46

What are the hours like, prospects, etc in the other one?

QuickPollPlease · 04/10/2018 17:46

Oops.. and it's full time, plus additional hours as needed.

I have 3 school age DC.

Would you apply?

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 04/10/2018 17:47

Do you have school age children?

BobLemon · 04/10/2018 17:47

Yep

ChateauRouge · 04/10/2018 17:48

Sorry- we need a bit more to go on- hours? Days? Benefits?

garethsouthgatesmrs · 04/10/2018 17:48

its a lot extra. have you done all the calculations RE tax etc?

i suppose it depends how young your children are and whether holiday care would be very expensive. Also your own job satisfaction is important, do you prefer the new job?

Knittedfairies · 04/10/2018 17:48

I’m going to need more information; working school hours, with all holidays/insets off?

formerbabe · 04/10/2018 17:48

How old is your youngest child? How much longer do they have left at primary? What childcare would you use for the full time job? Would you have to pay for it?

MrTrebus · 04/10/2018 17:49

Most random thread ever award with basically no information goes to you OP!

garethsouthgatesmrs · 04/10/2018 17:49

if you have to pay for 3 lots of holiday club then no I wouldn;t, unless you really needed the cash. I bet you dont end up with a lot more anyway

formerbabe · 04/10/2018 17:49

Also how much do you need extra income?

QuickPollPlease · 04/10/2018 17:49

Prospects better.

(Phone old & not working properly, apologies for unclear posts Blush)

gamerchick · 04/10/2018 17:51

So you're on 1200 now and this one is 1800 during school hours only when you have 3 school age kids?

Is there a catch?

QuickPollPlease · 04/10/2018 17:52

Ok. Youngest child in last year of primary.

New job not school hours, is full time.

Don't need additional £ for school fees / childcare but would be useful.

You lot are so quick at answering!

pepperrainbowpig · 04/10/2018 17:53

I'd never give up a school hours job with school holidays off.

QuickPollPlease · 04/10/2018 17:54

So. Currently on £1200, school hours. New potential job £1800, full time plus as needed.

LauderSyme · 04/10/2018 17:54

Are the prospects good in the full time role? Is it a job you really want to do, or could lead to something you'd love? Would you need to find and pay for childcare? If so is it affordable and logistically possible? Need more info really for an informed opinion. For me, the childcare issue and associated hassles would probably mean not worth it.

Rebecca36 · 04/10/2018 17:55

Sounds worth it to me.

formerbabe · 04/10/2018 17:55

If you have free childcare and your youngest is nearly finished at primary, then on balance I'd go for more money/prospects...unless you're financially comfortable and enjoy having spare time...both are equally valid choices.

DittoNut · 04/10/2018 17:55

Surely you wont need childcare for long if your youngest will be at secondary in less than a year?

£600 is quite a significant amount.

maddening · 04/10/2018 18:00

How much per hour is each job?

unexpectedtwist · 04/10/2018 18:04

£600 is a lot but sounds like your actual hourly rate goes down! Therefore it's a pay cut.

hendricksy · 04/10/2018 18:05

Is £600 going to make a difference to your lives ? If so it's worth it if not no...
