Mystery thong

Hi, I've name changed for this as I'm worried it will out my other posts.

Yesterday while my dd (2) was at nursery I decided to fully clean her bedroom and get rid of some stuff in preparation for Christmas and my 2nd baby due in feb all fine. Rest if my house is always pretty clean and organised I'm a bit of a neat freak.

Yesterday after nursery me and dh took dd out for dinner and came straight home I out dd to bed and put the gate across so she can't get out of her bedroom.

This morning when I woke up I let dd out the bedroom and she followed me into the bathroom where I spotted something around her neck was then I realised it was a pair of women's underwear a green thong I didn't recognise the underwear and so i know for sure they are not mine. I removed the underwear from dds beck and inspected them to realise they were dirty and also had speckles of white paint on them.

I went downstairs and told dh who was just as confused/mortified as I was I had already put the underwear in the bin I went to get them out of the bin to realise they wernt there so that led me to think I'd totally lost my mind I'm 22 weeks pregnant so for a few moments was quite scared I'd imagined then the whole thing but then i found them in a nappy bag on the side. They are now binned. We have asked everyone we can think off including mil and nobody has claimed these thongs I dont know what to make of it!

I dont think their anything to do with dh we are happily married 2nd baby on the way and no problems at all plus he is a terrible liar and his shock was totally genuine.

I imagine they belong to whoever lives there before and had fallen behind a radiator and you knocked them when sorting out the room.

Did she find them at Nursery? clutching at straws Was DH totally shocked because DD found them rather than totally shocked because he had never seen them before?

Tbh i couldn’t identity every pair of undies I own! Some I probably haven’t worn in an age

Also asking everyone you can think of why? Who I mean in all honestly is going to say yes the thong is mine, say for example they were mil she’d probably be too embrassed to claim them I know I would.

Do you have a cat? One of ours likes to present me with stolen pants whenever he can, generally around 5am on my pillow. Who knows where he gets them from; for weeks I suspected that DH was playing games to shit me up til I saw PantCatBastard stood on our drive with a bright pink pair of child's pants in his mouth.

Have you had house guests recently who might have left them behind?

There was a very similar thread recently about a black thong, never found the owner.

Agree to being past owners and stuffed down a radiator. Check for any more.

Paint also made me think they'd been behind a radiator.

Maybe they came from nursery, one of the staff with a spare pair??
@Idontbelieveinthemoon just spat out my coffee laughing at PantCatBastard 😂

I wonder if your husband's shock was for the reason you imply. Was it shock due to a strange pair of knickers in the house or "oh shit, she found them."

PP who said radiator is dead on I think. I dislodged an old sock from behind a radiator when moving out of my old room at home. It was very dusty and speckled with purple paint from where I had painted my radiator two years previously. I think you have your answer!

Well we have lived in our place for almost 3 years I recently decorated dds room and that including using a long duster and cleaning out the raidiator I guess it could of been missed.

No dh didn't even look guilty. I guess we askes because dd does have a fascination with underwear she loves putting clean underwear from the clothes horse on her head. I wouldn't put it past her to pinch underwear from someone's house.

Who else lives in the house? Presumably if just you, DH and your daughter then it has to have been your DH who took them out of the bin Confused

Another one for radiator, especially as thongs are usually delicate so you’d put them there to dry rather than tumble drying them. DC1 knocked a car down a radiator in our new (old) house recently and using a stick to poke it out also revealed a filthy old sock and a couple of old photographs of some kids with VERY 70’s haircuts!

Who was going to be taking the nappy bag?

If you were cleaning the room then I also think they were behind the radiator for years. Your DD spotted them on the floor and did her usual putting on the head trick. Especially if there is paint on them?

Yep, Sherlock Holmes badge to Thesearmsofmine.

Speckles of paint definitely suggests they've been lurking behind a radiator for god knows how long. If they were dirty in a sort of dusty way, I'd say it's deffo a past occupier's kecks.

Do you have a forwarding address? That would be mischievous.

I think the really suspicious bit is your dh removing them from the bin!

Why would he remove them from the bin? I'm confused

Why did your DH take them out of the bin?

I also remember the recent mystery black thong thread and many thought cat, others thought visitors (none claimed it when OP text her friends it could have been) and the rest thought DH having an affair when he's supposedly at work .

Why did he take them out of the bin? If you've decorated DDs room and cleaned the radiator with a long duster I doubt they were from previous owners.

Could they have been unearthed when you tidied her room earlier in the day?
