AIBU?
Fuck off with your big arsed car!

Kind of light hearted...
Not only am I constantly blinded by their bastarding headlights when driving at night, 9 out of 10 times I come back to my car to find that a big arsed giant fuck off car has parked next to my tiny and mega old in comparison car.
Ok I understand that people can park where ever they want, however it really annoys the hell out of me to the point I feel like asking them why the hell do they need such a big car when they’re the only person in it, and do they actually live on a farm? 😂 (I’ve never actually seen more than 2 people in these things and I tend to see more older and retired drivers so my mind boggles why they’d actually need one)
The reason I get the rage is because these cars take up nearly two parking spaces, and therefore park really close up to my car making it difficult for me to see beyond their car when I’m trying to reverse out of a parking space as my car is so small (I can drive it just naffs me off that they always park next to me).
They also don’t seem to give a shit about how close they’re parked next to me. Twice this week whilst I have been sat in my car they have banged their car door into mine and not even acknowledged it. I know I should have said something but honestly if I did the farm and some other random comment about having a big arse would come out! 😂
AIBU to put a sign on my car saying ‘fuck office with your big arsed car!’ When I park up? 🤔

Round here its more the tatty old people carriers that are a pain in the arse. The big shiny 4x4s tend to park away from others so they don't get scratched.
I have a tiny Smart car. I struggle to get in and out of it anyway due to arthritis of the hip and need to open the door fully to get my leg in as it doesn't bend properly. I know that 9 times out 10, no matter where I park in a mostly empty car park, I will return to find a tatty old people carrier jammed up against my driver's door.

The headlight thing - I have a new car (normal sized, in fact, rather low to the ground) with halogen headlights. I flashed someone the other day for being a prick and then felt like I should have been apologising to him - man those things are BRIGHT!
Will be great on the country roads at night though!

I have a big arse car. We do the school
Run in it sometimes, and we have one child. What you don’t see, is us taking a 3.5t trailer of sheep to market, or 2t of sand in a flat bed for building, or a caravan with it.
And I use it for harrowing the fields, since the tractor died.
I also have a long big German saloon; because I drive 1000 miles a week on motorways and want to be safe and comfy.
On an aside, part of the rise in popularity of pick up trucks is the low company car tax on them! Hence shiny ones being seen with one occupant in a suit.

Why is it so many of the tiny little car brigade get their knickers in such a twist when someone is driving a bigger car? Why do you care? Can't really see how you are letting it have such a negative affect on your every day lives. In quite a lot of situations people need a taller car, that's why basically all disability cars are 4x4 or "tall" cars. Also from personal experience it's easier to get kids in and out and my SUV is a 7 seater, quite essential to me being a childminder and sometimes having 6 kids in the car after a school pick up. Couldn't make the younger ones walk the distance to our school or up the 2, nearly vertical hills you have to climb (one on the way there and one on the way back).and I'm certainly not pushing a triple buggy up and down those beasts 2 or 3 times a day feck that! Also not a chance I could fit all my car seats for the kids in a little car, I had one so I know and that's why I got a big arse car and I love it!! 😂

@oxymoron do you realise you’re coming across as nasty and judgmental. A few sweeping statements and generalisations about school mums there..but congratulations on your originality and ability to not become one of the sheep. So what car do you drive that millions of others don’t?
Stupomax · 03/10/2018 13:57
It must be a nightmare driving a pickup truck in the UK. We have one here in New England and I hate driving it into the city and especially hate parking it - and our parking spaces are fairly big.
It is useful for a few things (we don't have rubbish pickup here so ours mostly does dump runs and transports cut down trees) but other than that it mostly sits on the drive.
Weedinosaurus · 03/10/2018 14:37
@sillysally, yes it is. Comment wasn’t aimed at you?!? The sheep comment and other parts of that comment were pretty nasty and reflective of a attitude.
It gets my back up when people make comments inferring their superiority based on such stupid things as car choice. People know nothing of those people driving the cars.
