How many teas?

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

At one end of the shelf behind the kettle there are four pots that dh uses: tea, coffee, cocoa and sugar. The rest is the pots and boxes that I use: 14 different teas - herbal, black, green, non-leaf brews too.

It's NU, surely? The dc have something from 'my' side more often than from the other side, and it's nice to offer to guests.

I only like normal tea, tetley. So that's all I have.

That's fine. I have a deep drawer and a shelf full of teas (along with some hot chocolate and a jar of coffee). Both are 60cm wide, so they fit a lot in.

I always have at least 5/6 different herbs teas, plus normal tea, you are NU. Love a herbal tea...

Tbh, though, a lot of the teas are pretty similar:

I have 2x Assam, 3x English breakfast (each different brands), some are tea bags, some are loose leaf. I've about 5 boxes of PG tips, and I've also got some Darjeeling.

Then I have some fruit tea and some herbal teas (boak) for my weird oh and eldest child.
Then the obligatory Horlicks, hot chocolate and 2 types of coffee for guests (as we don't drink it).

I also drink about 8-12 mugs of tea a day.

Out I have PG, redbush, decaf coffee and a beanies flavoured coffee.

Then various Tassimo discs over by my coffee machine.

Then in the tea cupboard maybe 5 more teas and a couple more instant coffee flavours.

We like a hot drink.

The only tea I like is green tea with lemon, I probably buy 3 boxes a year!

Coffee beans, instant decaff, loose leaf tea, tea bags, a fruit tea, peppermint tea. Used to have hot chocolate powder for kids, but not any more.

My kitchen isn't big enough for fourteen types of tea, and I don't like to keep it too long, so only buy enough to last weeks rather than months.

But, if you have room for it and it all gets used up. why not?

OP, I have one of these and utterly adore it. I usually have 12-15 different teas in it.

I did convert dh to normal decaff a while back but he moaned he was tired, never mind that he was sleeping soooo much better, but it's up to him twat

coffee is the shelf filler here, there's cheapo instant, nice instant, nice instant decaff, nice ground decaff, italian ground, fancier ground single bean type, and usually decaff beans, italian beans and fancy/novelty beans, depending what aldi or lidl have on promo!

I have ordinary tea, decaff tea, redbush tea and lots of different Nespresso coffee pods. I hate all herbal teas so none of that for me Smile

Right now we have decaff coffee (pregnant but gone off of it sobs), coffee, builders tea, Earl Grey, strawberry and mango, a twinings fruity set and a chai. We'd have more of there was space in our cupboard. I used to have a hot drink cupboard with loads of chais, fruit teas, hot chocolates and Coffees (instant and not). I miss those days.

I have Yorkshire tea, and a tea box with about four or five different packs of herbal teas open at a time. I have about another eight or ten boxes in the cupboard, all different. When my teabag stash looks a bit low I'll open another box.

It's like chocolates. You can be happy with a whacking great bar of Galaxy or you can have a selection box.

I like black tea & rooibosch (1, 2)
DD likes green tea (3)
DS likes peppermint (4)
Recently I rummaged thru work cupboards & brought home all the boxes that were past BBF date. So as a result we have at least 5 other herbal sorts (->8). Slowly working way thru them. Twinings Licorice is a delightful discovery. I loathe coffee but the others drink it so a few different sorts.

ps: also I have decaf black tea, so that's 9.

You're fine! I often feel like we have all the tea. It's nice to have a range. Although I like to keep them fresh in jars so they don't take on the smell of other teas or coffee.

We currently have:
co op own brand that DH bought
PG tips for when the crap co op ones run out
Pukka mint refresh
Pukka night time
Pukka three mint

Lots of my friends like a herbal tea when they’re over, and I like the mint ones sometimes. DH drinks builders tea and so do I- I don’t like the co op ones much but am getting through them! I would normally get Tetley, but the PG tips were on special offer and I couldn’t justify the price difference.

I like herbal tea but some I’ve had are hideous.

I am vindicated Grin

YeOldeTrout, if you like licorice tea try Pukka Peppermint & Licorice (more licoricy than pepperminty) and Teapigs Licorice & Peppermint (very intense, one bag makes twice as much tea as a Twinings or even a Pukka bag).

I'm not convinced on peppermint+licorice together.
