I just put forks, knives & teaspoons all together. I no longer can be arsed to sort them. I put the spatulas etc in a jar by the cooker.

Aibu?

also, forks, spoons, knives WTF is your MIL on avery??

spoons in the middle goes against basically every form of reasoning I can imagine!

Yikesisthatmeinthemirror · 04/10/2018 19:17

Fork spoon knives, is she Thai?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/10/2018 19:59

Mil used to move them to forks spoons knives whenever she visited, it would drive me nuts

The beee-aaatch!

I hope you put her right,

FaithHopeAndSkulduggery · 04/10/2018 20:20

I buy all my pants in Black now too and bras based on black so that they always match. I generally just get the Asda cotton ones and if they start looking grey or frayed I just toss them into the bin without a second thought so I can happily be taken away by ambulance with no worries about the state of my underwear.

What a load off your mind that must be Skulduggery.

I am in a similar confident state about my undies, as it is all so old, and has been washed to often, that everything is a uniform shade of drab grey.

I am ambulance ready at all times.

borntobequiet · 05/10/2018 08:12

I buy black socks/ankle highs but find the varying tops make them difficult to pair, adding significantly to my mental load.

MemoryOfSleep · 05/10/2018 08:14

Never occurred to me that there is a right order for cutlery in the drawer! I think they're spoons, forks, knives currently.

Dogswithteddies · 05/10/2018 08:39

I don’t turn clothes the right way round. I reckon the kids have to do them themselves before the put them on!

KathDayKnight50 · 05/10/2018 10:24

Hilarious thread!

I let my dishes air-dry. I don't have the effort of drying them and I have no tea-towels to wash and dry either!

theunsure · 05/10/2018 10:27

Oh gosh no - the thought makes me feel a bit faint.

We have 4 mixed sets of cutlery in the drawer and I get mildly stressed if I can't get a matching knife and fork for both of us each mealtime.

That's on a par with non matching clothes pegs for me.

PrivateParkin · 05/10/2018 10:45

no tea-towels

What?! Grin Did I read that right????!

DieAntword · 05/10/2018 10:46

It’s easier to sort them than to hunt through a pile of mixed up cutlery surely?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/10/2018 10:48

Never occurred to me that there is a right order for cutlery in the drawer!

Of course there is!

What sort of sick fantasy world do you live in?

KathDayKnight50 · 05/10/2018 10:56

Sorry, PrivateParkin

I am one lazy woman, I am Grin

PrivateParkin · 05/10/2018 11:04

Kath Grin I am too, but I do love a souvenir tea towel!

KathDayKnight50 · 05/10/2018 11:08

Private Oh yes, that's okay. Just for looking at only Grin

I just look at other things a lot too - the vacuum cleaner, for instance.

Barbie222 · 05/10/2018 11:19

My mum does this - all in a jar on the table. One day I'll be chilled enough to do it too!

kerryleigh · 05/10/2018 11:29

OMG! Confused this is true rebellion! get me my smelling salts! [fainting]

soupforbrains · 05/10/2018 13:38

I'm currently working on making my underwear conform.

At present I don't think I own a single matching set and live most of the time wearing enormous UniQlo shapewear shorts in an attractive shade of nude

I am definitely not ambulance ready and it plays on my mind constantly.

BigFatGoalie · 05/10/2018 13:50

Noooo! Just SORT them.
I judge people (in my head) for doing this. Makes my skin crawl Grin
Although only thuan morning I was hanging the washing and thinking it’s so much easier in summer when we don’t wear socks! I HATE matching socks!!
Still do it though...

NoIsACompleteAnswerSometimes · 05/10/2018 14:54

We have 2 cutlery separators/ sorter thingies. (Dead posh here, innit?)
Left hand one - spoons forks knives, teaspoons at the bottom. Sharp knives, corkscrews, potato peeler etc in the other tray. Mind you I had to look at it, I don't do the cooking so I've not really got any idea where the utensils go.

Oliversmumsarmy · 05/10/2018 16:07

I don’t sort cutlery. I don’t iron and I don’t have a microwave.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/10/2018 16:21

Are you really the Queen *Oliver'smum" ?

Nanny0gg · 05/10/2018 20:57

That's on a par with non matching clothes pegs for me.

A woman after my own heart!

Olderbyaminute · 06/10/2018 01:11

Recently moved and somehow the main cutlery organizer got lost and the spare was broken so until I could get replacement I laid down drawer liner then neatly organized the cutlery as if in an organizer and then I realized I had a serious ocd problem
