To be mortified I just shouted 'fuck off you cunt' at my boss.

Bad day, terrible even. Was in a foul mood walking home from work. Crossing road at a T junction with my head down and a car beeped at me as it turned in to the minor road.
Assuming it was an impatient driver who honked at me to get out of the way, I looked up and shouted at the top of my voice 'FUCK OFF YOU CUNT!'
As the last word left my mouth I realised it was my boss and he was pipping his horn and waving to say hello. His window was down so I've no doubt he heard what I said.
We both looked at each other in horror as he drove off.
Shit, shit, shit.
It'll be ok, right?

Heh, I’m in my forties, (I’m the one with mates that if you’re not called a cunt, you’re probably not a mate)

So I guess I’m too old for that huh? Lol

Although yes, I have been known to chuck a customer out of where I work for calling me a cunt in an aggressive manner.. so yea, there IS a time and a place and all, but come on grumpy ladies! The OP had an awful moment, and her mouth ran away at an inopportune moment... Sure she f’ed up. But ya know, we are all human.

Boss is over it. How about the prim Prissies of MN get over it too eh?

You seem pretty agitated yourself

RickOShay · 02/10/2018 14:36

Grin Kath. That’s brilliant.

Yourenotericlove · 02/10/2018 14:38

I don't think anyone is laying into the OP. I don't think anyone is responding any more to that particular incident. They're just responding to the fact so many people think it's funny and think it makes the OP a legend.

Lethaldrizzle · 02/10/2018 14:40

Yep and so far the ones who don't think it's funny have been called cunts and twats. Nice

itchybumhole · 02/10/2018 15:23

Ugh, is this still going on?

No one thinks that swearing at a stranger in the street is cool ffs. People were amused by how mortifying the situation was for me when it turned out to be my boss in the car.

I wasn't asking if my behaviour was unreasonable, I already know the answer to that! I was asking if it was reasonable to be mortified and fear for my job or not. Again, I already knew the answer but wanted to share my story and maybe get some stories from others about similar situations, have a much needed laugh about it and hopefully feel reassured.

I'm getting properly bored of some posters who can't let it lie now, and will only be happy when they've stoned me to death in the street for saying 'cunt'. Big deal, I said a naughty word for fanny. Get a grip for the love of God.

If you just take the initial post for what it is, and don't judge the poor woman as a serial foul-mouthed fucker but an everyday normal kindred soul who'd just had enough, and didn't spew her anger directly into someone's unsuspecting face when honked at by an unbeknown passing imbecile (we've all been there), she's just sharing something hilariously funny - see it for what it is and laugh with her.

ethelfleda · 02/10/2018 15:44

Haha - are people STILL discussing this??

It’s. Just. A. WORD!!

KathDayKnight50 · 02/10/2018 15:45

Glad you enjoyed it RickOShay Grin It amused me too.

WrenNatsworthy · 02/10/2018 15:49

Surely it just boils down to - would you forgive someone fr swearing at you if they were having a bad day, and were sorry.

In this cas ethe answer was yes.
For some of you, the word cunt is a deal breaker.
For me, it isn't.

I have performed The vagina Monologues a few times (to raise money for local women's refuges etc as part of the VDay charity movement).
We were invited to The Albert Hall for a gala performance in 2002 and the whole place was on their feet shouting Cunt after whoever did it ( can't remember, might have been Danni Minogue) It was amazing, like a war cry. So for me it's not a swear word anyway, it's lost it's shock factor.

It's funny how a word can generate all this anger and reaction isn't it?

Lethaldrizzle · 02/10/2018 16:16

Haha but it's you guys who keep prolonging the debate

itchybumhole · 02/10/2018 16:30

There was never even a debate to begin with until a hardcore small minority of cat bum mouths got all uppity about CUNT and started kicking up a big fuss.

Lethaldrizzle · 02/10/2018 16:35

Ah sùch eloquence

itchybumhole · 02/10/2018 16:40

Brilliant. Got no answer, so resort to calling people uneducated. Hmm

Lizzie48 · 02/10/2018 16:58

I've never sworn at anyone in my life (the most I'm guilty of is shouting 'shit' when I'm frustrated), but I could never judge the OP for swearing in the circumstances she described, so soon after hearing about her family member being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Everyone has a breaking point, and that was hers.

It seems that her boss saw it that way, too, hence him giving her a cup of coffee.

sugarcoatedthorns · 02/10/2018 18:25

I cannot understand how you 'pearl clutchers' sooooo offended and prissy (your own words) can use this situation to pour scorn and abuse on others who have come to give genuine advice about this OP.

How is it OK for you to call PP abusive names when they've made it clear they find it offensive. Noone cares that you don't find it offensive, the fact is you have discovered others do and then proceeded to call then abusive names,

It's not good you to decide it's not offensive and then to add insult start name-calling others. That is a truly shit way to treat your fellow MNers.

I now don't even understand how 'mortified' OP could have been considering the name-calling and subsequent deliberate uses of a word that others have told you they find offensive. You can't tell them they're not offended. In talking like this you are being offensive to some and the others seem to think this is hilarious. What life is this?!?!

Is this deliberate lets takes the piss out of people. And shouting it in a show over and over, which I've done does NOT mean anyone wants to hear it shouted at them in arguments.

You keep hurling insults OP, and if you didn't want views, like some saying they would never shout that, or even swear is was they are entitled to do in response without then having abuse hurled at them, ridiculed and scorned. I have less and less sympathy.

You have serious shit to deal with, and I hope you can use your energies for positives in yours and your DSis lives through this difficult time Flowers

sugarcoatedthorns · 02/10/2018 18:29

By 'pearl clutchers' I'm referring to those of you calling others that, whilst being all hand-bag clutching and pearl clutchers' yourselves ad you can't see the irony in that

Lizzie48 · 02/10/2018 18:46

Are you actually trying to offer support to the OP, @sugarcoatedthorns or are you trying to make her feel worse about everything? As you yourself say, she has a lot to deal with right now, so you could try laying off her.

itchybumhole · 02/10/2018 18:46

I don't feel they've given any advice whatsoever. They've just come along to berate me for swearing like I'm a naughty child. The clue's in the title. If you find the word so desperately offensive then don't click on the link.
And I didn't ask anyone to tell me their views on the C word. It's my right to use that word if I wish, in the same way that it's your right to be offended.
Sorry, a brief reply to your considered response. I'm busy with children in the bath at the moment...
But you don't all have to keep telling me off for saying a swear ffs. The majority of people here have said that my mortifying scenario made them laugh... great. Something positive to take away from the whole debacle.
Then there are people like you who just can't get over yourselves enough to realise that I don't care if you find the word offensive.

ProfessorMoody · 02/10/2018 19:04

Goodness me, sugar-coated. How on earth do you survive in the real world? There are far more horrifying and offensive things out there than a cunt.

carpettile · 02/10/2018 19:36

GOD I hate the C word, but I didn't let it distract me from what was a hilarious post made especially hilarious as OP wasn't sacked. Plus it cheered me up just at the right time. I didn't even give a thought to think oh how naughty/terrible/evil she was. Jeezo people!!!

I don't think OP minds poeple being offended it is just utterly pointless in this context to comment on it.

sugarcoatedthorns · 02/10/2018 19:44

And so you try to continue to offend, so long as you're not offended, right? No, wrong.
You cant see that you are being insulting, I am not even saying that I am insulted, you just seem to be seeing things to try to argue with, argumentative.
Whatever I have or haven't been through is irrelevant, some people find it insulting, so how is that funny, and then to call them the very word they find insulting and that be hilarious. No I don't get it. It does come across as taking the piss out of people that don't swear and shout?
If you come here and post this is what will happen and now you have tragedy to deal with.

ProfessorMoody · 02/10/2018 19:47

If you come here and post this is what will happen and now you have tragedy to deal with

What the actual fuck?

MrsJMartintheFirst · 02/10/2018 19:51
