AIBU?

To be mortified I just shouted 'fuck off you cunt' at my boss.

Bad day, terrible even. Was in a foul mood walking home from work. Crossing road at a T junction with my head down and a car beeped at me as it turned in to the minor road.
Assuming it was an impatient driver who honked at me to get out of the way, I looked up and shouted at the top of my voice 'FUCK OFF YOU CUNT!'
As the last word left my mouth I realised it was my boss and he was pipping his horn and waving to say hello. His window was down so I've no doubt he heard what I said.
We both looked at each other in horror as he drove off.
Shit, shit, shit.
It'll be ok, right?

Am I the only one that thinks it disgusting to shout that at someone, whatever they did

I wouldn't use those words, no. But I would leave them in no doubt I was rather angry!

Are you normally so verbally aggressive?

Hope he sees the funny side.

I wouldn’t worry, OP. My DD2 got drunk at a work night out and called the entire management team a bunch of cunts. They left around midnight. DD2 partied on until 2am, then, even drunker, phoned her boss, now at home in bed with his wife, and shouted down the phone to him that he was “ still a cunt”.
She was subsequently promoted with a hefty pay rise!

Good stuff OP, love it. 😂

It'll be ok OP...youll look back and laugh one day Grin - it was outside of work anyway and not actually aimed at your boss so what trouble can you get in really? Id message and explain! You've brightened a lot of people's evenings by sharing, on a plus side.
Flowers for you.

Was expecting a completely different scenario from the title of the thread 😂

Just message them and apologise and explain the situation. I'm sure once explained they will find it funny, I know I would Grin

I very rarely laugh out loud, especially as things I read online, but that has made me belly laugh - DH came in to ask what was wrong Grin

OMG that makes my recent slip-up pale into insignificance !

(a car failed to give way when it was my right of way which meant I had to reverse back to let them pass. It was only after I started wildly gesticulating about their actions that I realised it was a friends husband Blush )

I hope they have a sense of humour OP

You sound really rough

Because she said cunt? Get a grip 😂 I'm certainly not "rough" and it's a fantastic word.

Anyone who honks their horn when it's not necessary to avoid an accident deserves much worse.

It is disgusting langauge; especially when you shout it out without bothering to look around. Anyone could have been walking by with their kids. And it's a particularly vile word at the end. But since OP seems quite comfortable yelling like this in public then telling her off on here isn't going to make a difference.

The pompous gits on their high horses evidently don’t realise how they come across. 🤔

I have been worrying on and off about doing this for 20 years and it’s the only thing that stops a lot of my road rage

Oh OP this is hilarious Grin

On a serious note don't worry, just explain as you have here. He seems the cheerful sort so hopefully he'll see the funny side

It's not pompous to say that shouting the word 'cunt' in a public area without bothering to look around you first is a really vile thing to do. I'd how most people would find that type of action inappropriate.

Well if one of my team did this to me I would think it was hilarious to be honest.

I would be ribbing them about it for ages Grin

Oh dear, boopsy. You might want to loosen your grip on your pearls a little, else you may choke.

Send him a text saying you’re really sorry you thought for a moment it was an ex who until recently has been hounding you.

God I love MN. I'm weeping here, haven't laughed this much since the penis beaker. You are a legend. And you definitely have a grumpy twin 🤣
