Anyhow... instamums... (dads) - this influencer stage is imploding a bit. It will always work to a certain audience (the feverish bandwagon folks) but people are wise to it now.

I complained to asa about some blatant non disclosures not long ago from a minor celeb/instamum. So bloody obvious and out of order.

I love a bit of Insta chat but have the topics been a bit done to death now? We really have discussed ads and sharenting thoroughly, is there more to say?

One person I have started following as a result of these threads is Candice Brathwaite. She is phenomenal, just totally fresh. She should have 500k followers, mad that she doesn’t. She properly made me shed a tear today on her grid.

That guide (I’ve just skim read it so far though to be fair) looks very very clear. Hard for influencers to feign ignorance about gifts and freebies now.

Skim read too but looks like #ad is what they should be using. But they need to put it upfront at the start of a post. And that includes freebies etc too. Seems fair I think.

These threads are ALWAYS bitchy and mean and full of vitriolic comments aimed at people you know nothing about. Come on, you don't really want to discuss the 'ethics' at all - there's been god knows how many of these threads and they all go the same way. You want to slag off women on Instagram who have something you'd quite like yourself/ you're jealous of/ you don't understand how they have 'free' stuff/ delete as applicable

Even when they declare, use the correct hashtags, declare #ad at the start, you're STILL not satisfied and yes, too right I'd be dropping HQ a message of I saw myself being torn apart on here every single damn day

PS I'm not an Instagram influencer. MNHQ are right to zap these threads and their collective hearts must sink when someone insists on starting yet another one

Do you know if all influencers will have been sent those guidelines spirit? I wonder how they'll promote them.
