I do feel that @mrbull! But still I kind of like her. I’m not sure what all the lists are? Or why or where it leads. I think she calls herself a social media worker. And she used to be something to do with Facebook

aliceinwonderlust23 · 03/10/2018 18:52

according to SWCBN people are sending her screen grabs of this thread and the nasty comments were are making..

Is she really going to pull in the sympathy votes by making things up? I cannot see nasty comments about her, just facts. Where has anyone discussed her band or her real name? This is where MN gets the worst rep, and I bet all the slogan jumpers in the land she reads these threads

Sidalee7 · 03/10/2018 19:02

O god the CT spa break begging!
Love, you say you go every year. So you must know the ones you like and the ones you don't. I thought she was the best (of a bad bunch tbf)

checkedcloth · 03/10/2018 19:32

Yep - pure and simple spa break beg

fruitshot · 03/10/2018 19:41

CT and her writing is rather wet and uninspiring to me. I've just taken a look at her latest post about the morning of a school run, and how she can't wait for shared parental leave so she doesn't have to shoulder that great burden herself constantly.
Hopefully she will be able to relax easier at a spa now.

BlueGlasses · 03/10/2018 20:17

SWCBN has very sensibly put her account to private.

ShirleyPhallus · 03/10/2018 20:28

It’ll be back to public in a day or two

Mightymousie · 03/10/2018 20:30

Its hardly private if you have 21k followers.

Scientistic · 03/10/2018 20:48

CC post is quite heartfelt to me. She probably is getting sent screenshots and exaggeration, if she isn't actually reading the thread. I often think that those who come across abrasive at times are often the most insecure. She's kind of putting her hand up and saying the same in that post.

Shampooeeee · 03/10/2018 20:53

@Mightymousie thanks for the explanation. It’s certainly a long way from how I was brought up or how I am bringing my children up. The idea of begging for freebies is especially mortifying, particularly if they can actually afford to pay for their own spa breaks.

SpiritLeveller · 03/10/2018 22:17

@MrBull, simplythenest has mentioned the ASA/CMA guidelines! I bloody love her. I am not surprised that she is the first one actually because she has been blogging (properly, not a fake blog stuffed full of affiliate links) for years and is very very smart (and also even handed and handy with a electric drill).

MrBull · 03/10/2018 22:21

@Scientistic it's hard to know what's going on there, isn't it. A lot of bravado perhaps and maybe not as fierce as she likes to make out. I hope she can find a peaceful way through all this, whatever is actually going on.

There's been nothing they can screen shot on this thread really as we haven't been allowed to say anything. That honey and milk poster clearly had a more personal connection to her outside these threads so maybe she went off to reddit or something and that's where the screen shots are coming from.

I'll check her out @SpiritLeveller, sounds promising!

I have to say Candice Brathwaite is absolutely clear and upfront. And always has been. And I always either laugh or do a little tear at her posts. I'm bloody chuffed as shit that she follows me back too. Grin

She stands out so far above most of the other ig mums.

oldgimmer78 · 04/10/2018 06:34

Yes I love CB too. She could do an #ad every day and it still wouldn't bother me. She has been through a lot and is making h ay whilst the sun shines. She's so upfront about it. I really hope she gets a Florida holiday.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 04/10/2018 07:51

I like CC, I like that she's abrasive and direct. Her posts often tickle me as I'm as middle class as they come these days, married to someone who works in a bank, lived in Crouch End and voted Lib Dems in 2010, she hits the nail on the head sometimes. As for the rest of it, I don't know, maybe some of it is exaggerated, but I don't think it matters as it's about her message. She's not selling anything.

MrBull · 04/10/2018 08:09

There's a lottttt of background to the discussion around her on here @Cheeseplantandpickle and if you haven't seen it you unfortunately won't be able to catch up on it as previous threads were deleted as legal action threatened by her. It's not really a great topic of convo though. In summary, she's reported mental health issues because of bullying she's receiving online (although we're fairy sure it's not on mumsnet right now, sounds like might be elsewhere) so it sounds like she probably just needs people to stop talking about her. I believe she's made her account private now too.

Noticed ptwm has done a collaboration with someone on a post but hasnt hashtagged it at all - but has put she has joined up with them. Its a decent post so not dissing that but does that count as disclosure if you dont tag it? Curious.

Surfinbird · 04/10/2018 10:07

Does anyone have a SS of swcnbn post ? I haven’t got Instagram now !

Sidalee7 · 04/10/2018 10:17

FOD is the worst. MOD is posting that one of the twins is in hospital, and he's doing stories of him doing ultra cringe dancing.
He's def lacking in empathy, I find him weirdly disconnected from his kids and off that he posts pics of his kids crying/having a meltdown. He also comes across as ultra tight.

SpiritLeveller · 04/10/2018 10:26

As long as the commercial relationship is clear you don’t need to use a hashtag though my understanding is a hashtag is best practice as well as it provides absolute clarity (depending on the hashtag used and it’s position of course!)

SpiritLeveller · 04/10/2018 11:46

Great article in Cosmo on the new guidelines.

Surely some of them must read it??

@sidalee7 I stumbled on his podcast episode with Giovanna fletcher today, having always been quite irritated by him, it kind of explains his personality in a way that I ‘get’ him more now. He says his way of dealing with stressful situations is humor and gives an example of when MOD was in labour with their first baby and he compares pouring water over her back like pouring gravy over a roast chicken (or possibly turkey?) so as much as he can come off as insensitive or whatever, it seems like that’s just him.

Mightymousie · 04/10/2018 13:08

@keepitwonky I noticed that the photo of him that was put up by Giovanna he looked completely different, he didn’t look like FOD, he looked more like he must do in real life if you bump into him, and it made me think FOD is like Mr Tumble or Mr Bean. It’s a sort of persona. I may be wrong and the photo just caught him off guard Grin
