To be a bit miffed at this

I picked my daughter up from an after school club. She is 5 and in year 1. It took one look at her and saw that her school pinafore was inside out, and on closer inspection her polo shirt was ALSO inside out.

She had PE this morning. I get that she is 5, and may have mishaps when getting dressed again, but I'm just a bit surprised that no one notice bothered to ask her to change it. AIBU? Or should I mention it to her newly qualified teacher ?

Why miffed?
The teachers need you to know what your child can/ can’t do. It’s up to you to teach her how to dress effectively. Otherwise the teacher would be basically bringing them up. And where would they get the time to do it?

Bluelady · 27/09/2018 21:05

Rainbow 😂

ProfessorMoody · 27/09/2018 21:05

Perhaps the teacher left them that way as a massive hint for you to explain to your daughter how to dress herself.

Dairymilkmuncher · 27/09/2018 21:06

My DS comes home from school with an inside out polo shirt sometimes, the last time I asked if he had had PE today and he said no Blush he's eight.

Chill out OP

MissClareRemembers · 27/09/2018 21:06

Don’t be daft. If you go in and say something you’ll make yourself look like a muppet.

Don’t embarrass yourself.

Hippywannabe · 27/09/2018 21:06

Taught for the entire afternoon today before a child whispered to me that my cardigan was inside out...

SoyDora · 27/09/2018 21:09

An inside out uniform won’t harm her in any way, will it? So what’s the issue?

saladfingers · 27/09/2018 21:10

Biscuit really? Nqt has nothing to do with it. My reception class mostly just 4yrs of age take roughly 30mins of a 60 minute lesson to get dressed and undressed. Any child that manages it unaided is a star in my book and so are their parents. I would question my parenting skills before insinuating that the experience of the teacher is to blame.

NoSleepzzzz · 27/09/2018 21:10

Oh for god's sake. Just teach your child how to dress herself properly.

mumsastudent · 27/09/2018 21:18

me " did you have spag bog today?" dc "how did you know?" bright orange stain on front. me"pe today?" dc amazed"how did you know?" jumper inside out clothes back to front..they use to think I was so clever...those were the days - it makes me smile even now- chill op its a learning process for your dc :)

Findingdotty · 27/09/2018 21:20

Errrrr what? Are you being serious?

mumof2andsurviving · 27/09/2018 21:22

Wow it didn't take long to get all judgy. I thought it was funny when I picked her up, but just was a bit surprised that no one had noticed it was very obvious.

I genuinely wanted to know if i should mention it on not; I don't want to embarrass the teacher, it's her first year, I get it she is learning.

My only thought was that my daughter was embarrassed that she had been walking around like that all day. And it was school photos today Confused

It's nothing to do with her "still learning" op.
Teachers don't correct that stuff. Where would they draw the line. It's your responsibility to teach her this, not the teachers.

tinytemper66 · 27/09/2018 21:25

🤦🏻‍♀️

Daffodillie · 27/09/2018 21:26

No school in their right mind would have school photos AFTER a PE lesson in Y1, surely Shock

OohOohMrPeevly · 27/09/2018 21:30

My son regularly came out with his trousers inside out. The trousers were dark grey and the pockets were white so it really stood out as they flapped like elephants ears! I just used to laugh.

Nicknacky · 27/09/2018 21:31

Why would it embarrass the teacher?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 27/09/2018 21:32

Yabu

Rebecca36 · 27/09/2018 21:33

My son was always coming home with clothes inside out, never gave it much thought. Looked quite funny when it was a V neck jumper inside out and back to front!

SoyDora · 27/09/2018 21:33

Had she even noticed? If she’d managed to put them on backwards I’d be surprised if she had realised. And if she did, she could have asked the teacher if she could change?

Parker231 · 27/09/2018 21:38

Why would the teacher be embarrassed ? They haven’t done anything wrong?

Canshopwillshop · 27/09/2018 21:40

I could always tell when my DS had done PE because he always came out with his school jumper on back to front - as did a lot of his friends. This continued throughout infants. He wasn’t bothered at all and it never occurred to me to tell his teacher.

my3bears · 27/09/2018 21:41

Laugh about it and again when she's older and you tell her about the time she wore her whole uniform inside out! Pinafores are cute but always tricky to get on at that age. You are lucky it wasn't back to front too! And tights hell, they must be every teachers nightmare 😂😂😂

cadburyegg · 27/09/2018 21:41

YABU not the teacher responsibility

Crunchymum · 27/09/2018 21:42

My 5yo, Y1 DC came out with his PE kit on earlier this week (most of the class were back in uniform).

The kids that took too long to get ready, had to remain in their PE kit PE was end of the day
My DC PE t-shirt was inside out and he looked a right state.

No way would I speak to the teacher about this though. My DC isn't very good at getting dressed. He is slow, and finds it a faff but it's not the teachers job to teach him to dress himself!!!! It's my job and I'm trying!!

My DC wouldn't even turn his t shirt back the right way when I pointed it out to him Shock
