I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all police out there. People moan and whinge but when it comes to it, they're the first people we call. We expect them to be in effect superheros - to come to our rescue. To sort things. To make us feel ok and to feel safe.
I've been a victim of assault and the police were brilliant. It was at work, in a kids home. They came and they arrested my attacker. They talked to me, they reassured me, they calmed me down. They really helped me and I'm grateful for that.
Spouting crap like 'all officers hit their wives' 'look at incidents that happened 30yrs ago' 'i pay your wages', they're ridiculous. My local police force post stuff on FB. Whenever a drug raid is on there, everyone is commenting bleating about how it's a waste of time, and how 'they should worry about rapost and murderers'. Well if you know so bloody mucgz please inform the police of all these murders so they can act.
Police aren't dolls to pick and choose what they get to enforce. They enforce the law, all of the law. And acting violently in a shop and causing a disturbance is a public order offence, just as growing weed is a drug offence and just how speeding is a traffic offence.
Posters who clearly have a chip on their shoulders about police. Bore off and stop insulting the people who do jobs mist of us couldn't imagine. Being spat at, assaulted, understaffed, low wages (look at grad jobs compared to police), all the stress, the things they see, and all that while listening to idiots bleat about how they pay their wages which means they should be able to tell them what bits of the law to enforce and what not to.
And to all the police officers on this thread, or in fact on the country, thank you. Thank you for making me feel safe
