She's on This Morning, with Philip and Holly doing a AIBU, must have got the idea from mumsnet. I always think she talks a lot of sense, think she'd make a better host than Holly. Anyone agree?

Vanessa Feltz wrote a book called What Are These Strawberries Doing On My Nipples? I Need Them For The Fruit Salad.

But Holly is the vacuous one.

I listen to her morning programme when I'm driving into work. It's OK, but not riveting, and I get irritated by the incredibly long-winded way she asks questions. She tends to go off into long lists of examples of what she's talking about which add nothing to the discussion and feel like an attempt to monopolise the conversation, and to be honest it becomes really boring. When she's in that mode I tend to move swiftly to another channel or a CD.

I like to listen to Vanessa . She is a brilliant broadcaster Her vocabulary is amazing. When I listen to her show, I usually use my dictionary app in order to understand the meaning of the words
However, I can imagine that irl she would be difficult

I like the sound of that book. HW appears to have produced some parenting books.

Holly is just too inspipid and as someone said upthread just eye candy really. Seems nice enough but no real wit and struggles with serious interviews!

So yes think Vanessa Feltz would be way better and alot more interesting!

My slight issue with Holly is that she looks the way I imagine "everyman" would want women to look and be. Blonde, busty, perky, fun. I am sure she is "lovely" and is a decent presenter but must say I find it slightly depressing that she seems to be used as default presenter for so many programmes.

Vanessa is older significantly smarter (probably bolshier as the drive incident proves) and so as a result personally prefer her.

I especially like the fact that unlike so many presenters Vanessa speaks properly.

I think Holly will only be working while she is good looking. Her career is predicated on her looks. Her personality is vanilla.

If you look at people like Ulrika Johnson, as soon as her looks faded, so did the work. She cuts a rather forlorn air these days, although she has a bit of success with reality tv. There will be other examples of good looking women who were flavour of the month whose career only lasted as long as her face fitted. Men don’t face the same problem. Phil Schofield and his younger tv wives for instance.

VF has had, and will continue to have a long career because she is talented and smart, not because she simpers, has the right look or the right connections.

As there are some Radio London listeners, what do you think of Jo Good? She does a vlog called Middle Aged Minx as well as her radio show and in the latest offering she is very cross she has not been considered as a replacement for Chris Evans. She says its the same old same old, which is true, always the likes of Zoe Ball being considered. But i would be amazed if she is considered for any national radio show, let along Radio 2’s flagship show. I like her, she is delightfully bonkers, but I can’t see her running the breakfast show even though she is an experienced broadcaster.

I think Holly is probably perfect for This Morning she comes across as nice and looks lovely but that’s about it

I would like to see more women like Vanessa on TV. She is extremely intelligent I have never heard anyone on the radio get the better of her and admire how she didn’t rise to Ken Livingston’s anti Semitic comments on her show she just allowed him to dig a hole

Her use of language is wonderful often leearn a new word form her.

Why are women presenters dumbed down it’s just so unnecessary we need more intelligent women on tv

I like both Holly and Vanessa.

Vanessa would be naughtier on a night out so she wins for me.

Vanessa is great, I love her BBC London breakfast show.

I would like to see a bit more of Anne Diamond on the TV, and (controversial) Anthea Turner.

Sarah Greene can come back too, and Emma Forbes.

Holly has her place, but V is indisputably the better and more intelligent presenter. The JV show is miles better when she’s on. When the Beeb were overly upping the female quota earlier in the year they should’ve got Vanessa in to replece JV rather than inflict Wiley on us.

I can see why people wouldn't like her, she's a bit annoying but I do really enjoy watching her on tv, she's engaging and her warm personality comes across.

I love BBC London Radio but I am not keen on Jo Good she witters on about herself too much

I prefer Sara Cox to Zoe Ball

I really like Nikki Bedi she read an email of mine on her show

I'm a big fan of her breakfast show - good balance of intelligent chat whilst still being entertainment (the alternative seems to be either really dry or inane chatter)

If you're an early starter (5am) Vanessa's R2 show is a great start to the day. I also quite like Angela Scanlon and Nicki (can't remember her surname but the one off Wanted Down Under) when they stand in for her. All a nice gentle start before Chris Evans comes in at a 100mph (who i'm also very fond of to be fair) to wake me up properly for the day.

Yy Jo Goode, she does have some interesting guests but she drives me mad when she goes off on a tangent & then doesn’t finish what she was saying, I end up shouting at the radio wanting to know the end of the story.
Also agree with pp when Vanessa interviewed Ken Livingston, it was a masterclass in broadcasting.

Holly is on celebrity juice and the like because her husband produces them

Also I’ve read on here quite a few people saying holly is actually a nasty bitch in real life

I find Celebrity Juice so awful to watch it’s so degrading all in the name of edgy humor
