Lately our 4 year old has been under the impression that there are things that girls and women can’t do because they are for boys. I don’t know where this comes from, we certainly haven’t bought her up this way and she goes to the most hippy dippy nursery and school where everything is very gender neutral.

Last night my husband bought he home this book, which is full of stories about incredible women over the history and modern day and she absolutely loves it.
Thought I might share it here for anyone who is struggling with boys or girls who are trying to understand that they’re not limited to anything because of their sex!

It’s called Stories FOR boys who dare to be different. It’s exactly the same.

Yes we have both of these and my DD (5) adores them.

Ladies have a look at Gendercritical on reddit. You may find some other kindred spirits.

OMG notumbongo I DO apologise. That had totally passed me by!!! I was sure it was the other way. Well I can only apologise profusely, retreat to the corner and now complain about both titles. Ever so sorry!

A collection of stories for rebel girls (quite young girls, by the sound of it) and it has a fecking trans child shoehorned in?? Is there a trans child in the boy’s version?

My DD wrote a very strongly worded complaint about that book op. She was 10 at the time.

It was widely criticised by the Booktube community, however. Most of us couldn't figure out how the inclusion of figures such as Thatcher could be included in a book titled "Rebel Girls" Hmm

What was the basis of her complaint, Show?! (The little rebel Grin)

She liked the premise of the book but was very cross about the terribly regressive trans coverage in it. She also had quite a lot to say about Thatcher Thatcher Milk Snatcher.

Its the black covered one with the trans story in. There is literally not a women’s space left in this world at the moment, is there.
