AIBU?
to ask you in what week you reached that 'get this damn baby out' phase?
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:22
34 weeks and until the last few days I've really enjoyed pregnancy (even with complications, scares etc - I've just been happy after many miscarriages to actually be past the 20 week mark!).
Two days ago, baby lodged in to my ribs, I found my first stretch marks, breathing started to become more difficult and insomnia/anxiety have heightened. I'm exhausted and still working 45+ hours a week for another 3 weeks.
At what point did you reach a point where you were fed up?
Did the next few weeks drag?
Feeling uncomfortable and teary, as grateful as I am!
Isitwinteryet · 24/09/2018 14:24
Congratulations!! The last few weeks is hard work. By week 39/40 I was so ready for her to be out!
BarbarianMum · 24/09/2018 14:26
By week 36. Pregnancy lasted til 40 +10. 10 days over doesn't sound like much but omg it was forever.
Sorry, that's prob not what you wanted to hear but much empathy.
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:26
Thank you winter - it's funny how invincible you feel and then it kind of hits you. Absolutely knackered!
Laiste · 24/09/2018 14:27
Yeah, the last 3 or 4 weeks is a killer.
One minute you're swanning about in full sail looking and feeling like you could do it all the time ... and then you wake up one day feeling like you've got a concrete block in your stomach and pains in places you didn't know you had and 2/3 weeks seems a bloody lifetime !!
CountessVonBoobs · 24/09/2018 14:28
39 weeks precisely with #1. Felt absolutely fine until then.
Never reached that point with DC2 as I was induced at 37 weeks.
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:29
A potential 8 more weeks just feels like a lifetime right now! I really hope I don't go too overdue
GulagMilkMonitor · 24/09/2018 14:34
I find anything over 38 weeks and I start to hate it.
2wo DD came at 36 weeks and I was just about ready to starting to get squirmy and ready for it to be over.
If you do find you start to get too uncomfortable that it is impacting your rest then do consider taking maternity leave early.
Rachelweasel · 24/09/2018 14:35
39 weeks today. I've felt fed up since 36/37 weeks. It's so long!!😩
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:35
Gosh you guys all lasted longer than me! I feel like I'm about to break. Work is okay bar the commute but once I'm there it's fine so going to carry on as long as I can. Can't afford not to!
Laiste · 24/09/2018 14:35
The over due days are the worst. I've done it twice. Just a few days with DD2, but one and a half weeks with DD4 ....
That's when you actually start watching the actual clock not just the calendar!
here's hoping you don't go over OP.
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:39
Congratulations @usernotfound0000 ! I just want to sleep 🤪
Bluntness100 · 24/09/2018 14:41
I recall sitting in the garden at 38 weeks crying my heart out becayse I couldn't do it anymore and they needed to get our daughter out.
Much to my poor husbands bemusement and dismay, ,,,at a loss on what to say doesn't cover it. 🤣
On the positive side, when they said they were inducing two weeks later, I positively hopped, skipped and jumped my way to the labour ward.
IFartGlitter · 24/09/2018 14:43
By week 39. Dd was born at 40+12.
Ds1 and ds2 were both born at 39 weeks. I’d had enough by then in all of my pregnancy’s. (HG sufferer throughout all 3)
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:43
@Bluntness100 really hoping I don't have to be induced as I've fallen in love with my MLU! 4 weeks until I'm 38 weeks. Feels a lifetime away...
MTBMummy · 24/09/2018 14:43
Huge congrats!
With the first one it was only when I hit 40 weeks did I feel that (but I'd only discovered I was pregnant when I was 20 weeks, so in those terms it was a short pregnancy) DD later arrived at 40+15, there were booking issues - the less said about that the better!
However DS was very much planned so by week 30 I was so over being pregnant, he also went over, although thankfully "only" by 10 days.
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:44
You guys all make me feel like a total WUSS!!! I'm only 34 weeks and feel awful!
BlueThesaurusRex · 24/09/2018 14:44
37 weeks, I was done!
Baby made me wait until 42 though 😩😩
BarbarianMum · 24/09/2018 14:45
"I just want to sleep". Yeah, getting the baby out may not be the solution to that. I mean, it will eventually.
MissHWKerr · 24/09/2018 14:46
Haha @BarbarianMum this is very true! I keep telling myself this lack of sleep is just preparation for the weeks to come! I'm fully expecting to be tired for the next few years
bershetmelon · 24/09/2018 14:47
My dd lodged her feet underneath my rib cage on the right hand side, at round week 30 and that was where they stayed until the very end. I wanted to kick the midwife every time she said 'her feet are over here' as if I'd not noticed. By week 40 I was sooo fed up and had been walking miles (have 2 dogs that love a good walk thankfully) in an effort to get her out of me. Fortunately I was 40+1 when she made an appearance but I was counting down probably from about week 34.
Padparadscha · 24/09/2018 14:48
With my first, I was absolutely done by about 37 weeks. I had SPD, baby was living in my ribs and I had such bad heartburn I genuinely thought it left holes in my digestive system. I went 10 days over my due date, I was waking up every day hoping to be in labour by the end!
With my second, I barely had a chance to feel fed up. Waters went at 38+5 and hadn’t even reached the ‘get this baby out of me’ stage.
