hidden damage from my DH

I am mortified and feel so guilty.
My DH bought me a kindle less than a week ago , just because.
Tonight it fell down the gap between the two reclining sections of our sofa.
I couldnt reach it so I pressed the reverse on the recliner and heard a crack.
The screen is totally smashed.
I have left it on the floor and will blame the dog when DH picks it up.
I feel terrible!!

If you blame the dog then it will shit in your shoes while you're asleep... and blame it on the cat.

Thanks to amazon replacing my brand new kindle that I accidentally damaged within 14 days of owning it, I took out a kindle unlimited subscription. So far they have made £7.99 a month from me which comes to almost £170 total at the mo, not to mention the fact I bought two more kindles for the kids the following year plus all the accessories from amazon. They earned my custom by impressing me. Had my kindle not been repaired I would have forgotten about it and picked up an iPad for me down the line instead.

This being said, I'd be happier if they actually paid all the tax they're meant to....

Ok I listened to you all and told him.
Said Im really sorry but Ive broken something.
He said what a surprise!!!
What?
So I explained something fell down between the two sofa chairs and put the sofa down to get off and heard a crunch.
He said come on what was it, so I picked it up and showed him
He burst out laughing and said you klutz!!! Can you believe it?
So I said everything you guys said about Amazon but its cracked all the way through to the back.
He asked me why I didnt just tell him and I said I felt awful and he said its only money. Still laughing!

Really really childish of you. Either woman up and tell him or take it somewhere and get it fixed.

Glad it was sorted. Bet it’s a weight off your mind. Tell Amazon about the good feedback you’ve heard on this thread regarding their helpful replacement policy. It’s always worth contacting them. Your DH wins brownie points for retaining sense of humour and a reassuring sense of perspective.

Stop being such a klutz and own up to your mistakes. FFS.

Just tell your husband what happened, that's the nicest thing to do. He sounds a rather kind man, to just buy you a gift like that, and he may get the gadget repaired for you, if it's repairable..
