To think she's called her children the same name?

Someone local to me has called their children Harvard and Harvey.

Are they not basically the same thing? Could Harvey not be short for Harvard?

I think it is like Sammy and Samuel? Or AIBU and they are totally different names?

Harvard's brother should really be called Yale, Stanford, Princeton, etc.

Some of these are hilarious - I particularly like the dad called Thomas with two DSs and one step-son all called Thomas. What I want to know though is what the second wife was thinking, calling both her DSs Thomas!!

I swear this is true. Canadian relatives had a daughter in the late 50s who had Down’s syndrome. They called her Deborah and put her into care and never saw her again. Years later they had another daughter ..and called her Deborah. I cry when I think of this.

My SIL named her kids all matching initials. First and last names are the same letter, think Betty Boo

George Foreman, the boxer, has five sons all named George Edward and a daughter called Georgetta. I wonder if his other daughters feel left out? Apparently his sons all go by distinguishing nicknames. Well, they’d have to.

I agree that Harvard and Harvey are too similar. Joanne and Josephine are different, though so that was a poor comparison. Joanne = John, and Josephine = Joseph.

I know a Leon and Leona. I don't know what the parents were thinking.
