I don't get why people stockpile cleaning stuff! I have 1 bottle Zoflora, 1 bleach , 1 Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 1 Mr Muscle window cleaner, 1 bottle of fairy liquid! Would rather have money sitting in my bank instead of my cupboard.

Her house is so clean though it’s mostly unattainable for a normal person

But it's also a very easy to clean house, carpets look new, its nicely and simply decorated. She doesn't show any really dirty/nasty jobs that need dealing with, it's just fairly new sink that's constantly showered in chemicals. The stories are amusing to watch for 24 hours, but beyond that, it all becomes a bit Stepford Wife, the house is sterile.

coffeekittens · 10/10/2018 10:05

When I lived in a new build it looked like that, moved into my 70s house and I still do the same amount of cleaning but it doesn’t look as clean.

TinyTwat · 10/10/2018 10:08

There is no way her account grew that amount of followers organically, It's obvious she bought followers. Also, didn't she register her name as a trademark long before her account blew up?
I don't give a monkeys about her monitising her account, what I do care about is being misled.

nipersvest · 10/10/2018 10:10

She's working with a very 'limited palette'. The tips she offers are the equivalent of the instructions on the back of a shampoo bottle.

nipersvest · 10/10/2018 10:13

Social Blade is back up and running but the data doesn't go back very far so its hard to see if there are anomalies in follower growth.

Amortentia · 10/10/2018 10:22

Her house looks like someone sucked all the colour out of life. I'm afraid I couldn't live in such a soulless, dull box. I think she'd get on well on that DIY on a Budget Facebook group - it's all grey on there too

I thought the same, I don’t get this current trend for grey drabness. At least when everyone was in to cream, beige and brown it had an element of warmth about it.

The other thing that concerned me is the use of soda crystals, I thought you had to be very careful in how often these when down your plug holes as it can be corrosive to pipes.

Neshoma · 10/10/2018 10:53

She'll have to come up with some new content soon as theres only so much cleaning of the sink you can watch - although I don't know what it would be.

For anyone who struggles with cleaning - there is no right or wrong way to do it. You can open a window, hoover the floor and dust in any order. You don't need to spend any money on products. An old cloth and water would do a good job. Theres no way you have to bleach, then cif, then Zorflora a sink to make it clean.

EdinaMonsoon · 10/10/2018 10:55

I think there are pros & cons to the Mrs Hinch account. I found her funny the first time I watched her stories (about 2 weeks ago) & I’ll admit to being inspired to sort a “daily cleaning jobs” list to reduce the need of a major 3hr weekly clean. It’s made a big difference & I’m happier in my home - partcularly important as I work from home. However, her stockpiling, daily cleaning product shopping expeditions & chemical overload is obscene. Why would you spray all that stuff over your soft furnishings? Also, her constant “what am I like?!” Schtick gets right on my pip. I feel like she gave me the boost/inspiration I needed but I’ve unfollowed now.

Lollypop27 · 10/10/2018 17:28

Well I won’t be looking at her feed again after today. A giveaway where you text like you do on the TV! She must be making a fortune.

Instacrumb · 10/10/2018 17:47

I know absolutely unbelievable!!! She hasn't said where the money goes either! A lot of negative comments on there. That was a really bad move. She did manage to label it ad though Grin

SiennaSienna · 10/10/2018 17:48

Pollution and toxic fumes. Nice.

nipersvest · 10/10/2018 18:54

that's a first, have never seen an instagram giveaway where you need to text to enter.

moreofaslummythanyummy · 10/10/2018 18:56

Yup anyone who enters will be spammed with marketing texts!

Bubba1234 · 10/10/2018 19:03

What I like about her account is it’s just different to what I usually look it on insta which is food pages & fashion.
I like some of her tips.
She’s very funny I think.

Boohissmiss · 10/10/2018 19:22

Her cashing in seems to be too much even for her loyal followers . That text in competition just goes to show she is ALL about the money and the whole thing is nothin but marketing

Instacrumb · 10/10/2018 19:45

So it just costs a text, which goes to your network which is fine. But the way she's phrased it is shes not earning of doing it? She must be to mark it as ad. If she was marking all her posts correctly then her followers would soon realise she's not just cashing in with this one ad but every link she posts. That's what makes me angry it isn't that she's making money but that these people have no clue she's been doing it anyway.

LakieLady · 10/10/2018 19:46

Here's my top cleaning tip: don't wear your glasses in the house unless your watching telly.

It's amazing how much dirt simply disappears.

LakieLady · 10/10/2018 19:46

WIBU to Zoflora the dog? She's a bit whiffy and I hate bathing her.

babbscrabbs · 10/10/2018 19:53

She seems sweet in a probably unwell way, but I hate the promotion of all these damaging chemicals and an overly clean home. No one needs to clean their sink using 8 different nasty products twice a day.

It's bad for your health, your children's health, the ecosystem and the planet. Especially in the light of this week's news about the damage we're doing to the planet and global warming potentially killing us in decades, people need to be more mindful about their consumption of EVERYTHING.

TinyTwat · 10/10/2018 19:55

Funny you say that @LakieLady I was musing last night about the amount of zoflora Mrs Hinch uses and how it is poisonous to dogs. I know that it says that you shouldn't let your dog walk over a wet floor washed in diluted zoflora. I wonder with the way she sprays it about the place if she's given it any thought what it could be doing to that poor dog of hers?

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 10/10/2018 19:58

Debating unfollowing after that give away. It's just increasingly aggressive & awkward marketing. Mrs H is getting lost behind it all. No matter what commercial sewer she falls down though, I'm sure she'll pop back up smelling of rose scented zoflora.

MaHeidsGouping · 10/10/2018 20:43

I see LittleHomeBird is back to ranting about MrsH after the giveaway post.

OftenHangry · 10/10/2018 20:56

It continues....

With "wanna win this send a text Hinch to xxxx number (standard rates apply)" ShockHmm

OftenHangry · 10/10/2018 20:58

Oh I see I xposted with bunch of you. Sorry. It hasn't loaded new postsBlush

Cleanerrates · 10/10/2018 21:09

Does she think people are thick? She’s responding to the backlash by saying she doesn’t get any money from the texts but she’ll be getting paid by the company behind the texts!! She cleverly wording it to try and make people think she’s not earning from it.... she stooped low with this.
