Looked at the nutritional value - 54g of sugar

I shouldn't have looked.

I feel sick and yet it was almost worth it....

I know I'm going to feel like crap tomo - anybody else do this - or just me....?

Oh dear jaychops that could be tricky. I got them in France on Sunday, though they are now back in Blighty. There's 8 mini bars in a packet - Milka choc is really yum, though I'll pass on the baguette bit (did get a baguette though!!). Not sure if you can get them here but you can definitely get Milka chocolate. Drop round my house if you like Grin

It's been a while but I was fixated on Rice Krispies for weeks with DS1 so I understand!

PintOfMineralWater · 19/09/2018 23:49

I think it sounds like a lot - but then I'm on WW and everything nice is restricted. 125g of chocolate peanuts is 27 points, which is more than my total day's allocated points!

CrispbuttyNo1 · 20/09/2018 00:01

125g isn’t a lot. Unless you do it a couple of times daily. As an occasional treat it’s not going to harm you.

I’ve just polished off a bag of reeses pieces without looking at the calories. Just checked and it was net weight of 150g and 52g of that was sugar. It’s a once weekly treat so I’m not too worried.

CSIblonde · 20/09/2018 00:20

Lostandfound
I felt fine after I'd eaten them. Hadn't had breakfast & then just had a cheese sandwich for dinner. I'm now on a healthy eating kick as I'm anaemic tho. Cake addict due to 70's childhood with sugar laden diet. Everyone ate crap back then, but weirdly we were all thinner then too.

tor8181 · 20/09/2018 00:47

i NEED chocolate a few time a day(my stress relief as i have 2 kids with complex disabilities that need 24 hour car each and i dont drink) i go through 2-3 bags of giant buttons and they are 252g a bag

toomuchtv88 · 20/09/2018 00:53

Won't lie when I read this the first thought that came to mind was...'jealous'

kmc1111 · 20/09/2018 01:06

125g of chocolate is 5 servings and at least 600 calories (or two McDonalds cheeseburgers).

OP shouldn’t be beating herself up about it, but it’s a bit worrying that so many people seem to think that’s a small portion.

SwordToFlamethrower · 20/09/2018 01:17

Light weight! Ha!

SlimDogMillionaire · 20/09/2018 01:42

Congratulations! I've had a bottle if wine and some really spicy crisps. Isn't life great???? 😁

EmilyRosiEl · 20/09/2018 01:52

That's not very much! about 700 calories? so you'd have to eat FIVE 125g bars in one week to put on a pound (each pound is 3500 cals).

frogface69 · 20/09/2018 02:18

It's only 2 big bites of chocolate.

1forAll74 · 20/09/2018 02:41

I am a choc addict, and always have some dark chocolate in the house. But sometimes I try and resist the urge to scoff choc when I maybe watching telly, or reading whatever, Then I go to bed.but don't usually sleep well. And then I am lying awake for ages, and suddenly realise I have chocolate downstairs, or even in my handbag by my bed, so have to get up, in the middle of the night. and eat a load of chocolate, its mad, but just have to eat chocolate when I think about it then.

LaGruffaloGrumble · 20/09/2018 04:17

The only thing stopping me from pounding half a packet of chocolate digestives right now is that my husband keeps them in the fucking fridge.

I don’t say this lightly. LTB.

IhopeyoulikeNavantoo · 20/09/2018 06:39

I mean this nicely but if you're a size 6 fretting over eating some chocolate you need to get a grip.

candlefloozy · 20/09/2018 06:47

I eat a bar that size most nights

Mia184 · 20/09/2018 07:01

I recently ate a 180g bar ofchocolate in abaout 15 minutes. And it was absolutely worth it!

UnderHerEye · 20/09/2018 07:04

OP I’ve found that the more I head to my 40s the less junk I can eat, and I definitely have to look at treats as occasional food now, and too much sugar makes me feel shaky.

But why is your size relevant? And why do you feel ‘guilty’? Do you generally have a good relationship with food? Having occasional foods shouldn’t be something to make you feel bad, some food does give us pleasure and that’s ok!

Lovestonap · 20/09/2018 07:18

2 things I wish people would stop doing

  1. ascribing moral values to food. It's not 'good' or 'bad'. It's either nutritious, i.e suitable for sustaining human life or not particularly.

  2. being 'astonished' at how much other people can ea because they can't imagine being able to. News Flash "WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT".

I know this is meant to be a light hearted thread but I'm not feeling particularly light hearted about this. Sorry not sorry

TheViceOfReason · 20/09/2018 09:43

I don't get why people struggle to understand that because they can eat 125g of chocolate and feel fine, others might not!

It's not hard to get.

I used to easily eat 200-300g of chocolate a day, eat it right before bed etc - no problem.

Now, if i eat chocolate more than a few hours before bed time - or eat more than about 60g in one go i feel sick, have a headache, and will have a shit nights sleep.

I'm not saying nobody should do it - just that for me it's not a good idea - pretty much what the OP says!

BloodyDisgrace · 20/09/2018 10:16

Bless you. Now have a biscuit as well.
No, seriously, don't beat yourself about it. What's done it's done. I smoke so I'll never buzz a brick of condemnation at anyone.

unyummy4amummy · 20/09/2018 19:23

I wouldn't worry too as long as it is not every day. I once ate a whole chocolate orange for breakfast. Not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed about that!

Weirdly, now my palate had changed and I only eat dark chocolate and as its so rich I find I can't eat more than two squares.

Changedforpost · 20/09/2018 19:31

About to eat a big Bag of marshmallows and a bag of Terry chocolate orange segments washed down with a chocolate yazoo..... sorry not sorry
