Looked at the nutritional value - 54g of sugar

I shouldn't have looked.

I feel sick and yet it was almost worth it....

I know I'm going to feel like crap tomo - anybody else do this - or just me....?

Pahhhh!
Lightweight! Wink

Although these days I do prefer a dark choc in small doses I can still manage a bag of Maltesers if I am pushed (there is no such thng as a 'sharing bag' of Maltesers)

GerdaLovesLili · 19/09/2018 17:27

And?

PinkHeart5914 · 19/09/2018 17:28

Unless your doing it everyday I really wouldn’t worry to be honest.

Sometimes you gotta live a little and 125g isn’t a huge amount

I got some of these the other day and am wondering about the baguette/ choc combination Hmm
I'm not planning to try it...seems like a waste of chocolate!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/09/2018 17:33

I found a fabulous new chocolate in the supermarket that is only 4.5g of sugar per 100g. The more that I eat dark chocolate, the less that I like milk chocolate. Most of the stuff that the DC eat tastes like oil and sugar and nothing else (mini Daim are the exception to that rule, they are delicious).

QueenoftheNights

You sound like fun! 😂

VelociraptorRex · 19/09/2018 17:35

@BobbinThreadbare123 trouble is I love dark chocolate, not sure how much calcium is in that... iron, now, there's lots of that according to my midwife when I had DS! Grin

BrokenFlipflop · 19/09/2018 17:37

No no no. Chocolate or bread but not both together. I can't even handle Nutella on bread ... straight from the jar now that's heaven.

ShoppingOnesSelfFit · 19/09/2018 17:38

I am a size 6 which is besides the point because I am flabby, feel demotivated a lot of the time and lacking in energy.

You are what you eat and today I am a giant chocolate covered peanut......

Tomorrow I want to be a quinoa, kale, and mung bean superfood salad....

Sakura7 · 19/09/2018 17:40

Nutella spread on a digestive and dunked in tea is heaven...

OP it's fine once you're not doing it every day. We need some little pleasures in life!

MrsMozart · 19/09/2018 17:42

I've eaten at least half a bag of Foxes fruit sweets.

I may well feel very yuck later.

My -excuse- reason was a sore throat and sucking them helps. Okay, so crunching doesn't have quite the same effect but I apparently found them very more-ish.

DeliciousCupOfTea · 19/09/2018 17:44

Wow! Everyone (well, not everyone! But quite a few posters!) on here seems so good and virtuous!!!

I honestly used to eat more than that on a daily basis OP! I've been addicted to chocolate for years! Sometimes have been known to eat waaaaaaay more than you describe in one sitting!! (I'm talking 3000 calories of chocolate in one go!!)

Anyway! I'm now vegan because it was the only way I could finally ditch chocolate (except dark, but I do find it relatively easy to limit that - it's the snickers, Cadbury, galaxy, etc... I had a big problem with!)

I've since discovered there are a few of us vegans out there who made the plunge to kick the chocolate habit!!!

So you’re a UK size 6 and you’re so upset about eating a bar of chocolate that you’ve created a thread about it. Do you have an eating disorder? Is this a cry for help?

Lostandfound81 · 19/09/2018 17:49

Perhaps I’m not best person to comment

But all saying 125g is nothing.
Isn’t it like three mars bars or similar? That’s a lot of chocolate, surely?!

AlevelConfusion · 19/09/2018 17:51

Well I feel sick and shaky and have a headache

Do people really feel ill after eating some chocolate?

As for allow yourself a square or two a day

I don't generally have a sweet tooth, I'm more of a crisps and cheese fan, but for some reason I develop a really sweet tooth when I'm in hospital, (I have a chronic illness), this summer I gained 5 pounds in 16 days eating meals, but also a ludicrous amount of cookies and smoothies.

Ontopofthesunset · 19/09/2018 17:54

Well, it is quite a lot of chocolate, but it's not so extraordinary that many people couldn't imagine doing similar, is it? Or at least eating the equivalent amount of sugar in a large slice of icing-covered cake or a superfudgeliciouscandiedpecan tub of ice cream.

AlevelConfusion · 19/09/2018 17:54

But all saying 125g is nothing.

OP said it was chocolate peanuts, so surely most of the weight was in the peanuts.

Lostandfound81 · 19/09/2018 17:54

@Magicroundabout321

LOVE chocolate. I drink about 10 mugs of cocoa each day, but just cocoa and hot water, no added sugar..

What brand?

adaline · 19/09/2018 17:55

But why does it matter so long as it's not everyday? Unless there is a serious underlying medical problem, OP isn't going to keel over because she had 125g of chocolate on a Wednesday afternoon.

Surely you don't sit there everyday and read every single packet, write down the amount of sugar/fat and make sure you never, ever go over the made up guidelines the government has decided on.

Everyone has different tolerances and so long as you don't do it all the time, 125g of chocolate occasionally isn't going to make the slightest bit of difference to anyone's overall health or lifestyle.

Lostandfound81 · 19/09/2018 17:57

@adaline

Whether or not it’s a one off or a daily occurrence, my point is - that’s a lot of chocolate! No judgement but an observation

Thisimmortalcurl · 19/09/2018 18:01

When in holiday and usually after a meal out I can have a milka bar that size, a huge bag of Lays and a bottle of wine .
In real life I usually only eat 1200 cals a day .
Hurry up next holiday !

adaline · 19/09/2018 18:01

Meh, as part of a balanced diet, I don't think 125g of chocolate is a particularly huge amount. Having it everyday, of course it is, but 125g of chocolate once a fortnight, for example, is no worse than having 10g of it everyday for a month (possibly better for your teeth too!)
