'AWKWARD: Viral 'Women For Brett Kavanaugh' Photo Has More Men Than Women In It'
The “Women for Kavanaugh” image came from a bus tour organized in August by Concerned Women for America, a conservative group that wants to “bring Biblical principles into all levels of public policy.”
In 2014, Concerned Women for America received more than $8 million from the Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, which is funded by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, ProPublica reported.

Mitch McConnell: “You’ve watched the fight. You’ve watched the tactics, But here’s what I want to tell you: In the very near future, Judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court… Don’t get rattled by all of this. We’re gonna plow right through it and do our job.” twitter.com/CNN/status/1043154728870400000/video/1

Plow right through it ....

He just couldn't shut up and now he has admitted it was 'bad' and illegal.

So far all the attempts to deny have been shot down by the facts.

So they need the details to come up with their strategy to fudge/obstruct/deny it. It's the same playbook as his Russia strategy, he needs the details to concoct a defence.

mistake (hollow laughter)
Maybe this jerk missed Libel 101 at Harvard Law (really, this twit graduated magna cum laude in '85):
Ed Whelan
@EdWhelanEPPC
I made an appalling and inexcusable mistake of judgment in posting the tweet thread in a way that identified Kavanaugh's Georgetown Prep classmate. I take full responsibility for that mistake, and I deeply apologize for it. I realize that does not undo the mistak

Told by someone close to the Supreme Court confirmation process that the president’s tweets defending Kavanaugh were by design of the White House and a direct reaction to what they view as Democrats repeatedly moving the goal posts.

The New York Times is calling her "Dr Blasey" and all other outlets seem to be calling her "Dr Ford". Her name is Dr Christine Blasey Ford (no hyphen?).

Ford became her last name when she married her husband Ford, but Dr Blasey has always been her professional name, and remains so (as far as I know).

Should New York Times give up using her professional name, as no-one else is? What was the situation with Cherie Blair and Cherie Booth? Which one was correct (we know which one was used in the press)?

holding up the Merrick Garland nomination was the "most consequential decision" he's made.
Beware of speaking too soon, SmugConnell. History may yet bite you in the backside on this, hard and deep with some big, sharp teeth.

Senate Dem leadership aide pushes back on GOP call to bring in outside counsel to question Kavanaugh/Ford.
“Outside counsel doesn’t vote on Kavanaugh. Senators do. Republicans need to do their jobs and not hide,” aide told me

Last night, Ford’s camp said that she couldn’t get to DC before Thursday because of issues her family is dealing with, Dem aide says. Wednesday hearing may be an issue to resolve between the two sides.

Senate GOP leadership aide pushes back: “Senate Democrats have rightly said that the Senate should not bully Dr Ford - the way to depoliticize that and ensure that is with an outside counsel.”

'Will Democrats take the House? Watch this district. It has everything.'
Colorado's 6th District is the ultimate battleground. For years, Democrats have poured millions of dollars in here to try to beat Coffman, but always fall short. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won here by 9 percentage points, but Coffman still won re-election by more than 8 points.
This year, Democrats on a national level are looking to this district as a bellwether, and the party has a poster candidate for a nominee -- Jason Crow, a combat veteran. If Democrats can finally win here, strategists say, they feel confident about taking back the House.
For Republicans, the race is a test of whether an incumbent congressman who has crafted a strong personal brand in an increasingly diverse district can survive an election where the enthusiasm is clearly on the Democratic side.

Gumpendorf · 21/09/2018 19:38

A theory:

Why did Rosenstein story leak now?

Kavanaugh may be sunk. So Trump feels freer to do something audacious. Also keen to take actions that get Dems to talk "impeachment" because that's only way to mobilize Repubs in midterm. Mueller closing in.

Result: Rosenstein fired

twitter.com/rgoodlaw/status/1043203860867821568

cozietoesie · 21/09/2018 20:07

It certainly feels as if Kavanaugh has had it.

ohmymimi · 21/09/2018 20:29

Gumpendorf · 21/09/2018 20:45

A different nuance

Andrew McCabe was suggesting that DOJ investigate the president, per @mattzap & @DevlinBarrett reporting. “What do you want to do, Andy, wire the president?” Rosenstein responded. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/mccabe-memos-say-rosenstein-considered-secretly-recording-trump/2018/09/21/f4aa9a62-bdca-11e8-8792-78719177250fstory.html?utmm_term=.8f47536d48f4
