Walls, walls everywhere

Donald Trump urged Spain to 'build the wall' – across the Sahara
"Spanish foreign minister says US president advised tactic to stem migration across the Med"

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/19/donald-trump-urged-spain-to-build-the-wall-across-the-sahara

At least it wasn't across the Straight of Gibraltar.

Trump in South Carolina: “You’re going to have a lot of water. We see it; it’s coming down. It just comes down. Nobody would believe a thing like this could happen. And already you’ve broken all records, and this is going to add four, five, six feet of water all over the state.” twitter.com/ddale8/status/1042521660669284352/photo/1

Trump in South Carolina: “We just left North Carolina. They got hit really, really hard, and they are working. And all of that water is coming your way. A lot of people don’t know that.”

More Trump: “So I know you have a rough few days. It will last a long time. It could last a long time. But you’re going to have a rebuilding process, and we are behind you from day one. From three days ago, and now it looks nice, but it’s really the calm before the storm.”

In which Trump says he ordered FBI employees' texts to be released because "the great Lou Dobbs, the great Sean Hannity, the wonderful great Jeanie Pirro" asked him to https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/407440-read-president-trumps-exclusive-interview-with-hilltv https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/407440-read-president-trumps-exclusive-interview-with-hilltv?amp&twitterr_impression=true

I hope Mueller is just crossing his Ts about now.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 19/09/2018 23:03

I suspect that MrM crossed his Ts a considerable time ago. (After all, he was head of the FBI for - what - 12 years?)

lionheart · 19/09/2018 23:13

One would not wish to tangle with him and his team, that's for sure.

This week seems to have been pretty diabolical and it's only Wednesday.

Sad

I missed this back in July.

PUTTING A FACE (MINE) TO THE RISKS POSED BY GOP GAMES ON MUELLER INVESTIGATION
www.emptywheel.net/2018/07/03/putting-a-face-mine-to-the-risks-posed-by-gop-games-on-mueller-investigation/

Sometime last year, I went to the FBI and provided information on a person whom I had come to believe had played a significant role in the Russian election attack on the US. Since that time, a number of public events have made it clear I was correct.

cozietoesie · 20/09/2018 01:05

Blimey. Thanks, Perking.

Trump posted this tweet overnight (to me, anyway):

Donald J.Trump @realDonaldTrump 13hr
More
“North Korea recommits to denuclearization - we’ve come a long way.” @FoxNews

However, we know, and it is obvious he doesn’t pay attention to his intelligence briefings. He also doesn’t read for himself. If he did, he would know that North Korea 1. Isn’t happy with the US, 2. Isn’t intending to denuclearise, and 3. Never was intending to denuclearise.

U.S. Is to Blame for Stalemate in Dialogue (Rodong Sinmun)

Three months have passed since the DPRK-U.S. summit and talks in Singapore and the adoption of the joint statement. The international community wished the DPRK-U.S. joint statement be implemented successfully, the extreme hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S. that have been the sharpest confrontation be put to an end as soon as possible and durable peace and security be settle in the Korean peninsula and the region.

The dialogue between the DPRK and the U.S. has been stalemated.

The U.S. is totally to blame for the deadlocked DPRK-U.S. negotiations.
The U.S. is stubbornly insisting on the theory of “dismantlement of nukes first” which was rejected in the past DPRK-U.S. dialogues, saying that other issues may be discussed only after the “complete, verifiable and irretrievable dismantlement of nukes” of the DPRK, while failing to show its will for confidence building including the declaration of the end of war which it had already pledged.

The U.S. is demanding unilateral and gangster-like claim forcing the DPRK to act without showing its movement. The conservative politicians of the U.S. are taking the lead in persisting in such gangster-like logic.

For implementation of the DPRK-U.S. joint statement, the U.S. which is the other side should adopt a sincere approach.
The future of the DPRK-U.S. dialogue totally depends on the stand and action of the U.S.

The U.S. should think twice and have an honest and diligent attitude toward the DPRK-U.S. dialogue with sincerity and bold decision.
And this is also beneficial to the U.S.

Congress is mere days away from allowing the Violence Against Women Act to expire on 9/30.
Originally passed in 1994, the VAWA gives law enforcement tools to protect women from violent and abusive current and former partners (among other protections).
It must be reauthorized.

On June 15th, Data Propria (a.k.a "New Cambridge Analytica") denied any connection to the Trump 2020 campaign. Brad Parscale, Trump's digital campaign manager, also denied it. Let's put that lie to rest. There's a DP sub on Parscale's own domain. They are f'ing working together.

'Kavanaugh hearing: When you’re a well-connected judge, can you do anything?'
Some deny the attack even occurred while others categorize it as a youthful indiscretion, as if Judge Kavanaugh had received a speeding ticket or shoplifted – instead of allegedly covering a girl’s mouth as she screamed

Bloody hell, the news is grim this morning. Angry

The attitudes in the Kavanaugh story are so revealing. Morning Joe was so gross yesterday that I never want to listen again.

The violence against women legislation is just 🤯. It's just so hard to understand people thinks like that and even harder to understand how they are in Congress.

Twelve years ago, Amber Wyatt reported her rape.
Few believed her. Her hometown turned against her. The authorities failed her.

This is a long read (and I don't know about if it's paywalled), but it's a worthwhile investment of time.
