I noticed Alyssa! She doesn't look impressed.

OkMaybeNot · 27/09/2018 20:46

This is all rather... tongue-in-cheek. Literally.

lionheart · 27/09/2018 20:46

I've had to put in my earbuds. DH just said "I can NOT listen to any more of this. He's an embarrassment. Let me know when the questioning begins".

Oh HELL! Now he's pulling the virginity card! What the fuck does that have to do with it? I'd say it'd be more likely for a certain type (i.e. a jock) who was a virgin to commit an egregious act to prove he was 'part of the In Crowd', especially whilst being egged on by someone (that Judge fellow).

yolofish · 27/09/2018 20:47

just got in and he's on.... how can anyone be so cringy, so weak, so horrible and yet so scary at the same time? He's calling out all the bingo cards he can find isnt he?

ohmymimi · 27/09/2018 20:48

The Renata lie:
Daniel Dale
@ddale8
Corrected quote: Kavanaugh says that the boys' repeated yearbook jokes about a girl named Renate was "intended to show affection, and that she was one of us," but "the media" has taken it to refer to sex. (The woman in question was herself offended by all the references to her.)

Fiderer · 27/09/2018 20:48

It's going to be played as a Good Man assaulted (sic) by Evil Doers and so traumatised he was understandably upset.

What a spectacle.

lionheart · 27/09/2018 20:49

... and the Ford lawyer is sitting back there.

ohmymimi · 27/09/2018 20:51

He doesn't wear a wedding ring, just like StinkyShock

OkMaybeNot · 27/09/2018 20:52

Hmm I hired women! Women! That's the sort of nice guy I am!

Fiderer · 27/09/2018 20:54

Least erudite most sniffy gulpy teary bizarre SC hearing imaginable.

Plus a sprinkling of Trump shite.

lionheart · 27/09/2018 21:03

John Harwood
@JohnJHarwood
Kavanaugh to Democratic senators on his love for teaching law and coaching basketball: "thanks to what some of you on this side of the committee have unleashed, i may never be able to teach again. I may never be able to coach again"

Replying to

Then agree to an investigation and clear his name.

Roussette · 27/09/2018 21:04

He protesteth too much.

He sounds totally and utterly unhinged

lionheart · 27/09/2018 21:04

He's lost it already.

Roussette · 27/09/2018 21:05

He has a nasty mean mouth

AcrossthePond55 · 27/09/2018 21:06

For those who aren't up on USA 'good man Jack criteria', being a jock (athlete) in school basically means you are an A-OK dude and are usually given a free pass on bad behaviour. That's why he keeps stressing his athletics in school.

Not sure if it's the same in the UK (and any other countries on this thread). But the 'jock culture' is pretty much still endemic here. He's a prime example of the entitled jock.

Roussette · 27/09/2018 21:07

I've heard of 'jocks' Across and imagined that to be the case... interesting

Gumpendorf · 27/09/2018 21:07

Mitchell will get him, won't she? He's lost it. He can't focus and he's flip.

lionheart · 27/09/2018 21:10

He does have a lot to say about sport.

ohmymimi · 27/09/2018 21:10

Oh dear, that Feinstein exchange was not a good look, belligerence as self pity.
However, she should have pressed him more on the FBI, re establishing witness testimony.

ohmymimi · 27/09/2018 21:11

as and

Gumpendorf · 27/09/2018 21:16

Twitter is acknowledging his belligerent attitude is going down well with the Trump base and the WH. It fits with the Trump narrative of liking men to fight back. Sad

ohmymimi · 27/09/2018 21:17

He's a prime example of the entitled jock
Yes, I thought his loss of control stemmed from the frustration of thwarted sense of entitlement. He thought he was a shoo in, and then hit the buffers of his past.
And he should be screaming for the FBI to clear his name.
