Accuser is a decent human being, hardly surprising Repuglies think this counts against her:
Christopher Cadelago
@ccadelago
Republicans tearing into Judge Kavanaugh’s latest accuser, noting that while the New Yorker quotes her as “not politically motivated,” she’s a registered Democrat who also “works toward human rights, social justice, and social change.”

More Avenatti.

thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/408028-avenatti-calls-for-hearings-to-address-new-allegations-of#.W6hM5v1IEKA.twitter

'Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing adult-film actress Stormy Daniels, is calling for the Senate to hear testimony from unnamed witnesses he claims can corroborate new allegations of sexual assault involving Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Earlier on Sunday, Avenatti announced that he is representing a client with “credible information” regarding Kavanaugh and his former classmate, Mark Judge.

“I represent a woman with credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge,” Avenatti said on Twitter. “We will be demanding the opportunity to present testimony to the committee and will likewise be demanding that Judge and others be subpoenaed to testify.”

“The nomination must be withdrawn,” he added.

The lawyer shared another tweet shortly after that included a screenshot of an email he received from Mike Davis, the chief counsel for nominations for the Senate Judiciary Committee, calling him to “advise of this information immediately so that Senate investigators may promptly begin an inquiry.”

Avenatti’s response to the email was also included in the photo, to which he told Davis that he is “aware of significant evidence of multiple house parties in the Washington, D.C. area during the early 1980s, during which Brett Kavanagh, Mark Judge and others would participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs to allow a ‘train’ of men to subsequently gang rape them.”

"There are multiple witnesses that will corroborate these facts and each of them must be called to testify publicly,” Avenatti continued, before going on to list several questions he advised Senate investigators to pose to Kavanaugh “without delay and provide the answers to the American people.”

My e-mail of moments ago with Mike Davis, Chief Counsel for Nominations for U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. We demand that this process be thorough, open and fair, which is what the American public deserves. It must not be rushed and evidence/witnesses must not be hidden.

Avenatti has not revealed the identity of the client.

His remarks arrive as Kavanaugh continues to face controversy surrounding sexual assault allegations brought by Christine Blasey Ford.

Last week, Ford told the Washington Post that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, groped her and attempted to remove her clothes while they were at a high school party in the 1980s. She also alleged that Judge was present in the room during the alleged incident. Kavanaugh and Judge have denied the allegations.

Avenatti’s tweets also arrived the same explosive report was published in The New Yorker stating that Senate Democrats are currently looking into a new allegation of sexual misconduct regarding Kavanaugh brought forth by a woman identified as Deborah Ramirez. Kavanaugh has also denied those claims.

Avenatti confirmed shortly after the report that the client he was referring to is not Ramirez.'

The idea of Trump chairing the UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday fills me with horror.

We all know Mini that they'll all be laughing behind his back... this tweet (not mine!) sums it up for me...

Tomorrow the most hated, embarrassing ‘president’ ever is speaking at the UN. Donald flies into town, escorted by drones & choppers like a hero, but we know he’s less than zero, a Russian asset, money-launderer, traitor, co-conspirator, predator, liar, grifter, dangerous fool.

'Brett Kavanaugh must also be asked about this entry in his yearbook: "FFFFFFFourth of July." We believe that this stands for: Find them, French them, Feel them, Finger them, F*ck them, Forget them. As well as the term "Devil's Triangle." Perhaps Sen. Grassley can ask him.'

It is weird to feel 'happy' that more women are coming forward with accusations. A feeling that mixes breath-holding hope with abject horror. Kavanaugh could literally stand up and drop his trousers at the next hearing and the GOP would still back him. They cannot let him fail. They are petrified of having no SC appointment before the November mid-terms. They are running scared.

Gumpendorf · 24/09/2018 08:15

I bet that's not on his calendar either.

Thanks for the links. It's all so credible. How desperate are the Repugs to get this nomination through?

Yup, Trump at the UN should be a train wreck. He does seem to be trying to tone things down atm though or maybe they have changed his meds.

Gumpendorf · 24/09/2018 08:19

One of ten reasons why the GOP are desperate, Northwest. Latest polling suggests they will also lose the Senate. I'm not sure I'm celebrating yet. There will be lots of dirty tricks between now and Election Day and voter suppression will get more blatant.

Yes Gump I fear there will be many obstacles to come!
Chatting to BIL in Arizona this weekend - he is optimistic that that the damage is done and will influence the early voting for mid-terms which is starting now. But in 'Trump Time' there's plenty of opportunity for even more shit to happen!

Yes Mr Pompeii, if only he actually retained some of those facts for longer than a goldfish might.

So helpful, and perfect timing, right before the UNGA:
'Giuliani: Iran's govt will be overthrown'
'President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani says that US sanctions on Iran are leading to economic pain that could lead to a "successful revolution".
His comments contrasting with administration comments that government change in Tehran is not US policy.
"I don't know when we're going to overthrow them," said Giuliani, who spoke in his own capacity though he is a Trump ally, at an Iran Uprising Summit held by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities, which opposes Tehran's government.
"It could be in a few days, months, a couple of years. But it's going to happen," Giuliani told a crowd at a hotel in Times Square.'

Smart point from @jentaub. And those 100k documents are hugely relevant here too b/c go to his credibility: they will catch him out in dissimulations. That happened even on the partial production, as we explained:

BelfastBloke · 24/09/2018 12:18

The latest polling does NOT suggest the Dems will take the Senate; only that it looks more possible.

It’s very tricky for the Dems to take the Senate, if you look at each individual race - things would have to go perfectly in each state. But such is the state of things at the moment.

I except the Dems to take The House but not take the Senate. But then I didnt expect Trump to beat Hillary. He had a 1 in 4 chance of winning the presidency; and the Dems have a 1 in 4 or 5 chance of taking the Senate.

cozietoesie · 24/09/2018 12:23

I'm with you, Belfast. I would hope for the House to go blue - but the Senate??

cozietoesie · 24/09/2018 12:27

I think, though, that the political landscape will be greatly altered, even if the Senate doesn't change.

Avenatti letter to Judiciary Committee chair:

'Thank you for your email. We are aware of significant evidence of multiple house parties in the Washington, D.C. area during the early 1980s during which Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge and others would participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs in order to allow a “train” of men to subsequently gang rape them. There are multiple witnesses that will corroborate these facts and each of them must be called to testify publicly. As a starting point, Senate investigators should pose the following questions to Judge Kavanaugh without delay and provide the answers to the American people:

  1. Did you ever target one or more women for sex or rape at a house party. Did you ever assist Mark Judge or others in doing so?
  2. Did you ever attend any house party during which a woman was gang raped or used for sex by multiple men?
  3. Did you ever witness a line of men outside a bedroom at any house party where you understood a woman was in the bedroom being raped or taken advantage of?
  4. Did you ever participate in any sexual conduct with a woman at a house party whom you understood to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs?
  5. Did you ever communicate with Mark Judge or anyone else about your participation in a “train” involving an intoxicated woman?
  6. Did you ever object or attempt to prevent one or more men from participating in the rape, or taking advantage, of a woman at any house party?

Please note that we will provide additional evidence relating to the above conduct both to the Committee and the American public in the coming days.'
