How does he get away with it

OP posts:
KindergartenKop · 05/09/2018 12:05

Because idiots vote for him.

KindergartenKop · 05/09/2018 12:06

Also, TBH, I'd point more blame at the man who used a referendum on the EU to quash rebellion in his own party. Looking at you Mr Cameron.

thenightsky · 05/09/2018 12:12

Agree about Mr Cameron.

HollowTalk · 05/09/2018 12:14

He's still there because there is literally no-one else. I would be hard put to fill ministerial roles if I could use people from every party. In fact I couldn't even fill the PM role. I've never known such a bunch of useless people.

Santaclarita · 05/09/2018 12:18

I have no idea.

He finds it easy to say how shit may is doing, yet he didn't take the job himself despite it being partly his fault we are in this mess. He should have stepped up, he wanted brexit not may.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 05/09/2018 12:21

His job is Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.

Therefore, the answer to your question must be "because Uxbridge and South Ruislip" is full of twats.

Uncreative · 05/09/2018 12:27

Many people have fucked this country up. Boris Johnson may be a muppet but he hasn’t been senior enough to fuck the country up yet.

There is a long line of people to blame (Tory, Labour and Lib Dem) before you get to him. Let’s talk about them instead of jumping ahead.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 05/09/2018 12:32

You could say the same about many politicians. Especially Jeremy hunt.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 05/09/2018 12:35

I'm not sure Brexit would have won without Boris. He gave the leave campaign a false air of legitimacy. And the worst thing is, he didn't even believe in it. He thought remain would win but he'd win brownie points from all the knuckle draggers which would help him get to No.10 later. If he'd believed in Brexit he would have run for the leadership (instead of running away from it).

He's perhaps not as responsible as Cameron for the mess we are in, but he's still one of the major architects of this shit storm.

Ellapaella · 05/09/2018 12:39

Because he's part of the still existent 'old boys network' and comes from a family with friends in high places.

RayRayBidet · 05/09/2018 12:39

@Santaclarita
Boris ran for the leadership at the same time as May but had to pull out when Wood Burning Gove stabbed him in the back after egging him on withdrew his support to run himself.

RayRayBidet · 05/09/2018 12:42

@Ellapaella
Also relatives in high places. His episode of Who do you think you are showed that he is related to the Queen.
He isn't anti establishment in any way, shape or form. He is though a right fucking cunt.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 05/09/2018 12:43

Well Cameron certainly started it but BJ (nuff said) finished it off the day he decided to go against what he had previously stood for and back the Brexit Bus. Because for some reason people listen to him. If he'd kept his influential gob shut, we'd still be in.

But, oh no, he saw a little chink of light which could mean power and decided to sacrifice the country for a shot at No. 10.

EthelThePiratesDaughter's comment made me lol.

Ellapaella · 05/09/2018 12:43

@RayRayBidet agreed.

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 12:49

Could you not ask the same question about the vast majority of MP’s, Don’t forget the MP’s voted for the referendum by 5-1
I wish each MP had a max two GE term, get some new and fresh ideas in the HOC

LardLizard · 05/09/2018 12:51

Oh I certainly blame David Cameron the most

OP posts:
Magicpaintbrush · 05/09/2018 13:03

Because he is a smarmy, self serving, odious little toad who has powerful connections with other slimy, self serving toads.

However, the debacle that is Brexit is the work of David Cameron and his incredibly ill-considered (knee-jerk) referendum. The whole thing is an absolute shower of shit and it all started with him. Boris Johnson jumped on the band wagon - that David Cameron had already started rolling - to further his own career prospects, not for the good of this country. He knows it and anyone with half a brain can see it. He is quite the machiavellian character I would say.

Same point to Magic

ForalltheSaints · 05/09/2018 13:22

Hopefully the electorate of Uxbridge and South Ruislip will boot him out at the next election, or better still, the Tory local party not re-adopt him.

Mind you, there are plenty of others who I would like to see gone from the Commons too.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 05/09/2018 13:34

Consider castigating the slimy toad Michael Gove too. He manages, or tries to manage, slithering away every time the proverbial hits the fan.

eddiemairswife · 05/09/2018 13:35

These Eton Old Boys have that confidence instilled into them at school. They always know best, and have the money and contacts to ensure an easy ride through life.

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 13:36

LardLizard Why DC, the Parliament have had numerous chances to vote against it

mariniere · 05/09/2018 13:37

Agree entirely with Magicpaintbrush - spot on.
Cameron was a misguided fool to call the referendum, though he felt he had no choice.
Boris joining Leave was what swung it for Leave and really dumped us in it. I don’t think the country will ever recover. And Boris still only cares whether he gets the top job, and about little else.

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 13:44

Do you honestly think 17.4 m people voted leave because of BJ, I expect most of them think he’s a bit eccentric
