How does he get away with it

Doesn't need 17.4 million people to have been influenced by Boris Johnson. Only a few hundred thousand.

LardLizard · 05/09/2018 14:04

Mandarin if he had stayed to see it through (brexit) and took on the on role
That would be different

But he is a popular guy and I think he swung it for leave I honestly do
And then he simply fucked off
Yet still working in politics

EthelThePiratesDaughter I’m amazed that you honestly think that BJ has got that much sway with people, that they would vote what ever way he chose to go, I think your vastly overestimating his appeal

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 05/09/2018 15:29

I think you are vastly underestimating how much the support of a supposedly serious politician (as opposed to the likes of Farage) benefited the leave campaign.

Most of the big names associated with Brexit could be dismissed as swivel-eyed loons before a big hitter like Boris decided to join their ranks.

FloralCup · 05/09/2018 15:30

I think he's going to stage a leadership challenge against TM. If he wins he'll say the Chequers Brexit deal is unworkable, there is not enough time to do a deal and will call Brexit off. He'll be seen as saving the country even though he was part of the reason Leave won.

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 15:57

EthelThePiratesDaughter It might have benefited the leave campaign because he dropped DC, but I refuse to believe that 500,000 + people suddenly decided to vote leave instead of remain because of BJ, perhaps I’m being very Naive, as I’ve never held any politician in great esteem, l can’t imagine anybody would with BJ

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 15:58

FloralCup Now that wouldn’t surprise me, it’s all about Boris

You don't know that though, do you?

Mookatron · 05/09/2018 16:18

another angry liberal twat starting a fight on MN with abusive language

This would be hilarious if the way it completely contradicts itself and makes no sense were not the way it seems acceptable to run the country these days.

WrongKindOfFace · 05/09/2018 16:21

God, as much as I’d like Brexit to be called off (unless we somehow get an utterly brilliant and workable plan that will enrich the country, so never) it would pain me to save that tit save the day. And be in charge.

Mookatron · 05/09/2018 16:26

If that happened at least we could vote him out at some point, unlike the irreversible Brexshit decision.

tadpole39 · 05/09/2018 16:27

I’ve got three words for boris Johnson Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliff. Unforgiveable

Morethanthisprovincallife · 05/09/2018 16:35

I doubt any leave voter cared less who was heading or following which campaign at all.

There are leave representatives across all the parties.
Do people like Gisella Stuart and Frank field deserve the same abuse?

Dc had to call a referendum because people were voting for ukip in huge numbers to get one.

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 16:47

Morethanthisprovincallife Yes, but did Parliament have to vote for the referendum (5-1) and every other decision since, why blame one man

Rosstac · 05/09/2018 16:50

EthelThePiratesDaughter No I don’t know that for certain, ( like many things at the moment, the truth seems hard to get) but would you change your ideas or opinions or thoughts because a Mp changed theirs ?

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 05/09/2018 16:52

Do people like Gisella Stuart and Frank field deserve the same abuse?

I have some pretty choice words for them as well (particular Gisela Hypocrite Stuart) but the fact is that most people don't have the first clue who they are, so they were less influential.

LakieLady · 05/09/2018 17:07

Gisela Stuart and Frank Field deserve their own thread each, tbh. Epic hypocrites, the pair of them.

SouthWestmom · 05/09/2018 21:21

@tadpole39

Exactly

Shocking how that's just gone away. More people outraged at Colleen Nolan.

ForalltheSaints · 07/09/2018 16:12

He will be a single man shortly. Some of his behaviour may come out in the divorce case.

greathat · 07/09/2018 16:19

Shame he didn't get out before he got Nazanin Ratcliffe trapped in an Iranian jail
