AIBU to think the latest John Lewis and Waitrose is just awful?

No, adverts like these (and McDonald's use the same trick) are suppose to give you a warm and fuzzy feeling about the company so you trust them above other companies HoF

It's horrible and boring with the crappiest ever song imaginable.

I don’t get why they’re doing it now - Christmas isn’t for months. I guess they’re doing worse than I though. Huge new one opening where I live.

Loved the advert.

They’re not trying to sell you anything as such, they’re trying to persuade you to shop with them rather than with the competition ie Amazon because their Partnership model means they employ people who actually care what you buy.

Which is great, except their employees are often shite. Trying to return anything takes half an hour

It’s because they are rebranding as Waitrose and partners/John Lewis and partners to highlight the fact their staff are shareholders.. personally I thought the ad was great!

Well, no warm and fuzzy feelings were generated here, we just sat there going WTF? Will be using the time to make a cuppa if it comes on again while I'm watching.

The rebranding has totally passed me by too. I thought it was well known that the staff are partners.

It put me off because I’m a teacher,and it reminded me of all the insanely complicated productions I’ve been involved with over the years. I sat there feeling stressed!

They have changed from John Lewis Partnership to John Lewis and Partners - Makes it sound like a solicitors or something

Our family lived it. It made us smile.
