To think you don't put someone else's slippers on your naked feet without asking?

My cleaner had had to change her hours this week so was there when I got home today. Was a bit surprised to find her wearing my slippers. She said something along the lines of "I assume that's ok". I think my face spoke for me coz she took them off. Is it just me or is that properly weird....

Wearing your employer’s clothes is odd. I’m not sure slippers are worse than anything else. Naked feet? Not really an issue.

mimibunz · 04/09/2018 20:15

That’s not ok at all! Gads! I would wash or throw out altogether. What was she thinking?

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 04/09/2018 20:15

It’s weird

UnicornSparkles1 · 04/09/2018 20:16

So very weird.

Of COURSE naked feet are an issue! FGS. She could have an infection or a fungus that will be more than happy to transfer itself to you. I would bin those slippers and tell the housekeeper in VERY clear terms that she is never to use or wear your personal items ever again. That is fucking disgusting.

Starlings27 · 04/09/2018 20:18

Ew no. She might have athletes foot! I could tolerate my partner or child wearing my shoes barefoot (though DP would have trouble getting them on!) but no-one else.

QuietNinjaTardis · 04/09/2018 20:18

🤮 I’d be ill. I’d never be able to wear them again. Peoples feet are disgusting and I’d probably cry. Yes I am that dramatic. No I am not unreasonable.

DroningOn · 04/09/2018 20:18

What you don't know was 10 mins previously it was a quick shot of your bra and pants! Shock

PositivelyPERF · 04/09/2018 20:19

🤢

JiltedJohnsJulie · 04/09/2018 20:19

I thought you were going to say your DD wore them. I’m usually very relaxed about boundaries and even I wouldn’t have liked this.

4yearsnosleep · 04/09/2018 20:58

Gross, gross, gross! I'd be fuming! (Luckily my feet are massive so no danger of it happening here!)

PuppyMonkey · 04/09/2018 21:01

I’m not really as bad about other people’s feet as some on here Grin. But WTF - wearing your slippers Shock

That’s like finding her wearing... I dunno, a pair of your jeans. Or your cardigan.

BigBlueBubble · 04/09/2018 21:10

Just yesterday it was in the news about a child who almost died from sepsis that she contracted after trying on shoes with bare feet. Apparently a previous person must have had bacteria on their feet and they got into the child’s body through a cut or scratch on her feet.

I don’t even let my own mother wear my shoes. It’s weird to put on your employer’s clothes. Bin them!

billybagpuss · 04/09/2018 21:14

No very weird, hope they weren't expensive ones I wouldn't want to put them on afterwards.

Marylou62 · 04/09/2018 21:19

I have a bit of a phobia about feet..(something to do with finding someones black shrivelled toes had fallen off in their bed when I was a young student nurse!} My DH sometimes wears my slippers, getting the washing in maybe...BUT..putting warm slippers just off someone elses feet..makes me shiver..

If I had a cleaner, and I found her wearing my slippers, Eeeww

Harrykanesrightsock · 04/09/2018 21:20

Slippers are gross anyway. Someone else wearing them is beyond nasty.

SparklingSaskia · 04/09/2018 21:22

If you were Japanese that would be reasonable excuse for murder.

Alpacanorange · 04/09/2018 21:26

Ewww. A visitor did this to me and I threw the offending slippers away.

steff13 · 04/09/2018 21:28

Was it so she didn't track dirt from her shoes around the house? That's very conscientious of her, I guess, but she really should bring her own slippers.

Holy fuck, @Marylou62!! Ick and ick 1000 times.

I don't want to know about dead toes falling off. I will dream about that tonight

Ew ew ew ew ew ew.

Her naked foot skin bits are now on your slippers.

(Your naked foot skin bits are on her feet too)

greathat · 04/09/2018 21:41

@BunsOfAnarchy that's what's in my head! ( I don't care about what's now on her feet, I know there's nothing pathogenic on mine ;) )
