Just seen the most enormous spider in my DS bedroom - would I be OK to just shut the door and never use the room again! DS can sleep in the lounge.

My house breeds them I swear Sad

Aquamarine1029 · 02/09/2018 23:05

What a beauty! I love spiders!

Heatiskillingme · 02/09/2018 23:07

I'm quite calm if they don't move but I think it's their movement that freaks me out

Maelstrop · 02/09/2018 23:09

A huge one was staring at me yesterday. I’m dreading the big bastards that are going to plague me this autumn. :(

A0001 · 02/09/2018 23:10

I saw a huge one in my bedroom earlier. Went to tuck the kids in then come back to remove it.

Yup you guessed it. By the time I got back, it had vanished. .

I am now sitting here with the light off, half hoping I see I so I can eject it, half hoping I nevee see it again (or one of the cats finds it first...)

3rd this year for me...

LoniceraJaponica · 02/09/2018 23:11

We had a monster the other day. Pringles tubes make ideal spider catchers BTW. Make sure you keep the lid.

Heatiskillingme · 02/09/2018 23:11

I had an encounter last year, took my dressing gown off whilst I went in the kitchen, came back a bit chilly so popped it back on. Saw something out of the corner of my eye in my hair. Yeppp big bad boy spider making his way through my hair Sad I flicked my hair, threw my dressing gown off and almost sobbed haha

Heatiskillingme · 02/09/2018 23:12

Oh this is genius!

BeefyCakes · 02/09/2018 23:12

One of the only benefits of living in the middle of a city is less of these 8 legged buggers every autumn. I'm not going home to my parents house in the countryside until at least November now

Marriedwithchildren5 · 02/09/2018 23:15

I had a huge one on the stairs last night. I was stuck there for a good 10 minutes trying to think of a clever way pass it. In the end I lept up the last 2 steps. Ran to my room and shut the door. Showed him!!

Hmm it probably crawled under your door during the night

Heatiskillingme · 02/09/2018 23:16

If I see one I can't leave it I have to get it outtttt

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 02/09/2018 23:19

We have a large spider that lives in one of the corners of the roof lantern we have in our kitchen. We leave that corner undisturbed. It’s sort of a family pet now.

abbsisspartacus · 02/09/2018 23:24

My kittens eat everything that moves right now

abbsisspartacus · 02/09/2018 23:25

Plus I'm leaving some celler spiders about they eat the big ones apparently

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 02/09/2018 23:30

Must admit- i used to be a squisher, a few years back I became an ejector - this year i have been a leave it be its not hurting anyone. Unless it's a monster- there's not enough room for me and a monster one- so i pack its bags and evict it! Still petrified but bellowing in my old age.

pompomcat · 03/09/2018 00:40

I see @BeefyCakes has got Aragog out again!! Is that in England??

pompomcat · 03/09/2018 00:41

Feel so ill reading these threads but trying to get a bit of exposure therapy!

thinkfast · 03/09/2018 18:36

Bossyboots are you sure that's a dead spider? It could've just shed its skin for a larger model...

LEMtheoriginal · 03/09/2018 19:11

Yep sorry bossyboots that aint no dead spider thats a shed skin!

Am loving the tube web

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 03/09/2018 19:19

I had one in the shower with me this morning, poor thing was drowning and nearly went down the plug hole. I switched the shower off, scooped him up on a flannel and put him in the sun to dry off.

If it's the same one he was up on the hall wall an hour later.

He looked like a 'Bertie' to me. :)
