I was going to say it looks like a mouldy raspberry! I've just eaten a few so I can be quite sure.

youarenot · 31/08/2018 14:27

I don't know what it is but I just about pissed myself laughing at the 'BIG LEGS' comment.. I also thought that!

HeckyPeck · 31/08/2018 14:28

😱 I don’t think mouldy fruit moves. Unless it’s full of maggots?

HeckyPeck · 31/08/2018 14:28

Just thought that’s really not very helpful! Sorry OP

twilightcafe · 31/08/2018 14:28

I've done a google search for 'bat on wall'. The results look very similar to your photo.
Sorry!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/08/2018 14:29

Deffo mouldy fruit.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/08/2018 14:29

Looks like a bat. Legally you shouldn't touch it because they are protected species that you have to hold a special licence to handle. You can probably google where to find someone.

Bats are tiny and their wing membranes are very delicate and easily damaged.

If it is a bat, it is totally harmless. They are delightful little creatures.

butterflysugarbaby · 31/08/2018 14:29

BAT.

Just leave the window open (and the door closed,) and it will fly out of the window.

May not be til the wee, small, (dark) hours tho!

Don't touch it. No need to!!!

viques · 31/08/2018 14:30

You need to do the glass / piece of card catching thing, because if it has moved when your dh gets home and you can't see where it is You Will Never Sleep Again - unless you work out a way to block your ears, nostrils and mouth and cover your hair.

Saffy101 · 31/08/2018 14:31

Not the best pic in the world but I think its a bat, maybe a pipistrelle, possible a young one. Look at some images online If it is and you are in the UK ring the Bat Helpline and they will come and remove it and make sure it is OK - 0345 1300 228

butterflysugarbaby · 31/08/2018 14:31

I have to ask............

Why would their be a mouldy raspberry stuck to someone's wall???????????????

.

Tinkobell · 31/08/2018 14:32

A baby pipistrelle bat.....awww

butterflysugarbaby · 31/08/2018 14:32

I mean why would THERE be, (not 'their!')

brokenharbour · 31/08/2018 14:33

I'm getting my vote in for mouldy fruit! I zoomed in and it's not a bat....

Haggisfish · 31/08/2018 14:34

Moving mouldy fruit with legs?! 🦇

IgglePigglesAnnoyingGiggle · 31/08/2018 14:34

@twilightcafe has it right - if you Google it OP the results are v similar! I'd be delighted to find a bat under my stairs, he could live their permanently, I'd fetch him food.

nhssecretary · 31/08/2018 14:34

Right
You will all laugh.
If it was a bat I would have been really excited 😂 I used to work with planning and conservationists and there was this amazing bat guy who hand raised orphans. He said I could raise some for him but then I got pregnant. It was a real dream! Was waiting for baby bat season.
So my husband works for himself (don't want to give my identity away because my wallpaper is pretty unique and I've made a fool out of myself with this) he just came in to get some bits for his next job. He took one look in the alcove and laughed his head off.

It's a strawberry. It's moving because it's beside the open back door.

We have a seriously minging son and he is a fruit fiend.

Well that was his verdict but I'm not moving it he can take it down when he gets home tonight.

Because just in case about THE LEGS

Looks quite bat like- have you a selfie stick lying around that you can take a closer look with? (Is it a battered snail)?

AllyMcBeagle · 31/08/2018 14:35

Looks like a baby bat to me too.

Have a look at this link which has a similar picture and the number for the bat helpline:

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/08/2018 14:35

Thank you Saffy - Bat Helpline is what I was trying to think of but the words would not come into my brain

nhssecretary · 31/08/2018 14:35

Wait, could it be a bat on top of a mouldy strawberry?

Cross post Grin

VickyEadie · 31/08/2018 14:36

BAT.

Just leave the window open (and the door closed,) and it will fly out of the window.

Partner and I once discovered two bats roosting high up in our bedroom, which had a vaulted ceiling. "We'll leave them until dusk", I said "And then open the windows and they'll fly out to look for food."

I only wish you could have seen the scene that ensued - bats flying round and bloody round the room, me trying to 'encourage' them out by running around, flapping my arms and them continuing to fly round and round. This farcical scene went on for nearly an hour. One did fly out - and then came back in again.

Eventually, I had to deploy a large fishing net (left in the loft by previous tenant) to catch them and eject them.

HeckyPeck · 31/08/2018 14:36

It's a strawberry

🤣😂

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 31/08/2018 14:36

Awww cross post- was hoping it was a bat ❤
