To think this woman was far ruder than me!

Feeling a bit upset as this took place in front of my DS.

I was coming out of a shop and stopped at the front to put my purse in my bag. A woman approached with her DC to enter the shop. I admit I was blocking the entrance. She huffed a bit and walked around me, this got my back up a bit so as I walked off I said to DS, 'she only needed to say excuse me'.

The woman then shouted after me, 'no I didn't need to say excuse me at all'.

I saw red at this point and shouted that she had no manners, she said nor do you and called me a stupid cow.

I'm rather shocked and embarrassed my comment escalated to this and it shook me up tbh.

She didn't need to shout after me.

I find it very difficult to believe this is really a reverse. You just didn't like the answers you got, that's all

I'm sorry op, I suspect this is true also. Your posts would indicate it was you and now you're a little embarrassed about it so are claiming you were the other woman.

Tara336 · 30/08/2018 17:41

You should have moved out of the way and apologised at the very least! You shouldn’t have been rude, she didn’t need to be either but can see why she was annoyed

MrsGB2225 · 30/08/2018 17:41

I really don’t think this is a reverse at all!

Aeroflotgirl · 30/08/2018 17:41

If you were in her way and she had to walk round you, should have apologised to her, and should not have commented to your ds, no need for that. You should have just left it and walked away.

kaytee87 · 30/08/2018 17:41

It's not a reverse. Op is just embarrassed at being told she's unreasonable.

ittakes2 · 30/08/2018 17:44

You thoughtlessly blocked a doorway, you didn't bother to apologise when you realised you were selfishly blocking her way and instead you made a passive aggressive comment to your child you knew she could hear...and you are surprised she wasn't the bigger person and ignore you. You behaved really badly and she called you out on it. I think maybe you have some issues if rather than apologise when you were being selfish you were passive agressive.

Oh Fuck off OP, what is the point of a reverse? Just be fucking honest you arse.

Yeah, you are the rudest, rude to all the people here you lied to and wasted the time of.

So, yeah, YAB fucking U.

Monkee4 · 30/08/2018 17:46

this is getting very confusing [hmn]

sue51 · 30/08/2018 17:47

Door way blockers are nearly as bad as escalator blockers on the tube. Do you really think everyone should be held up just for You?

funinthesun18 · 30/08/2018 17:47

She was rude, you were rude. Nobody was in shining colours or had the moral high ground.

ChangerChangerson · 30/08/2018 17:49

There was no point to this being a reverse so I also don't believe for a second it was one.

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2018 17:50

She was rude, you were rude. Nobody was in shining colours or had the moral high ground

Oh I don't know, I quite admire people who stand up for themselves.

GodsGodsGods · 30/08/2018 18:09

I 'had words' with an oblivious doorway blocker a few weeks ago Blush

Smoothyloopy · 30/08/2018 18:26

People stopping in shop for ways really miss me off. I live in a tourist town & get fed up with people coming out of a shop & then stopping in the doorway while they discuss which way to go. Just move to the side!

OliviaStabler · 30/08/2018 18:35

Shitty to post a reverse OP Hmm

Very rare that I hear anyone say excuse me any more. People are so bloody entitled - they are all in a terrible rush and the whole world must part before them to allow them to continue about their terribly important business without a seconds delay

Not entitled, they just expect people to be aware of themselves and not get in other people's way i.e. blocking a door, completely blocking an aisle in the supermarket etc.

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2018 18:52

I'm not sure there is anything more entitled than blocking a doorway and expecting people to wait or ask you to move. Confused

Somerford · 30/08/2018 18:56

This blatantly isn't a reverse. Tragic.

BarbaraofSevillle · 30/08/2018 18:58

Gods

A while ago now, I once tutted really loudly at a family group that stopped right in front of me to chat in a shopping centre, causing me to nearly slam into them.

The dirty looks I got illustrated clearly that I got my point across.

It's men in clothes shops with their DWs that are the worst offenders for getting in the way. They're usually on their phones so oblivious to their surroundings and they just stop in front of whatever I want to look at and stare at their phone.

Jimdandy · 30/08/2018 19:02

You’re the one in the wrong in my opinion. You blocked the door which is lack of common sense, then you were passive aggressive and make a sarky comment.

TheWickerWoman · 30/08/2018 19:23

Reverse my arse! 😄

NasdaqYouTwat · 30/08/2018 19:29

You should have just namechanged and moved on OP...

TheDowagerCuntess · 30/08/2018 19:37

So your second post...

OK. I guess I was BU. DS is pretty horrified and said I was shouting. I think it's disgusting she called me a name in front of her DC and mine.

Was it really an issue for her to have to walk around me or to have wait a few seconds for me to move out of her way

...was just to get everyone even further riled up...?

Classy. Wink

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 30/08/2018 19:38

I was in that there London last week, and made sure that my travelcard was ready in my hand as I approached the automatic gates on the Underground.
Three times a person was directly ahead of me as we approached the gates, then they stopped and started faffing about getting their ticket /card out of their pocket /wallet

ButtermilkBiscuits · 30/08/2018 19:40

YWBU. I absolutely hate rude people that block entrances to shops. 😤
