To think that a political party *trigger warning* (Title edited by MNHQ)

AIBU to think that if a political party:

Has its divisional registered address at a house which is a crime scene.

And that crime is the torture and rape of a 10-year old child, for which the perpetrator received a 22-year jail sentence.

And that living with this paedophile was a member of the party who was running for the post of Deputy Leader of the Party.

And that party member allowed the paedophile (their father) to nominate them for roles in the Party and employed him as their election agent after he had been arrested for raping and torturing the child (something which election candidate cannot possibly have been unaware of).

And that both the candidate and their father (respectively transgender and cross-dressing) had been campaigning through the Party for the loosening of safeguarding of children in schools and organisations like the Girl Guides. A campaign which the Party has been very supportive of, even turning a blind eye to the candidate’s doxxing of women.

That:

a) there might be some tiny mention of this Party’s failings in the press?

b) this candidate is probably not ideally suited to being Deputy Leader of the Party?

c) the Party might have done slightly better than this in wording its statement:

Since the Green Party didn't give a shit about the rape and torture of a 10yo child at their official address in Coventry, I don't expect them to be that bothered about women being silenced online.

trojanpony · 26/08/2018 09:17

What the hell am I reading???

For once, I wish Dailymail would actually pick up a thread, specifically this one, and help people open their fucking eyes.

AC was living in a two bed house with the father and a 10 year old girl was tied to roof beams in the attic and was raped and tortured.

The green party’s statement is a disgrace. The whole thing is a statement around AC’s rights to privacy and their support for her.
This is fucking ludicrous, irrespective of gender they should be running a fucking mile from AC. There is also no way no one knew until sentencing. AC failed to tell the party or the party are complicit. Absolutely disgraceful.

I feel so overwhelming sad for the poor girl who was his victim and overwhelmingly angry on her behalf.

I also think the GP needs to answer why it has been aggressively silencing women and why it is facilitating AC who, at absolute best, has no moral compass, to be deputy of their party.

While I’m hereAC’s outrage at stickers saying “women don’t have penises” also gave me the rage.
The fact is a Post-op transgender women don’t have a penis and can be classified as a woman, but a man with a penis, a wig and a dress on is...a MAN... because they have a penis!

My blood pressure shouldn't be this elevated on a bank holiday Sunday

A sadistic paedophile (under investigation for 3 years) has been allowed to support a person who is actively seeking to remove safe guarding requirements for children.

The address where the crimes took place is used in their literature as the Coventry Green Partys HQ.

You really couldn't make it up.

spikeyiscool · 26/08/2018 09:35

There's a big article in The Sunday Times about this.

MnerXX · 26/08/2018 09:46

The whole thing makes my skin crawl. The GP have some serious questions to answer. Their statement minimises a truly abhorrent case. There should be a review re checks over local volunteers, and whether AC is suitable party representative when their judgment seems to be highly compromised.

Step up GP as you will lose votes and members if you are not safeguarding children (me included)

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/rising-greens-star-aimee-challenor-will-not-quit-over-rapist-father-kngjwc8l5

I don't understand how he/she could live with her father in a 2 up 2 down and the father had the 10 year old tied up in the loft doing sex stuff whilst the father was wearing an adult nappy and an adult baby costume and was giving electric shocks to the abducted child and not know what was going on and yet choose not to use the father's proper name on the campaign leaflets (a breach of election law)

C0untDucku1a · 26/08/2018 10:11

Im horrified by this.

DioneTheDiabolist · 26/08/2018 10:38

Xenia, from what I've read, Aimee C is only 20yo. She has been in care. Her parents have been found guilty of animal cruelty and banned from keeping animals. Her dad is a sick child raping fuck.

She comes from a seriously messed up family and chronic denial is not uncommon in the children of sadistic abusers.Sad

Whatever Aimee's excuses, the Green Party have none. Their safeguarding measures should have flagged David C up a long time ago. Surely the animal abuse charges should have rang bells! It's clear that they don't give a fuck about the 10yo victim in this case and I think it's clear that they are failing in their duty of care to their own delegate who should really be put on gardening leave at this time.

Sarahconnor1 · 26/08/2018 11:24

The lack of reporting is truly Orwellian. The BBC didn't even report the conviction.

A man gets sentenced to 22 years for abhorrent crimes against a child a the BBC didn't think it was newsworthy.

Have they really learned nothing about turning a blind eye.

LangCleg · 26/08/2018 11:30

The BBC, it seems, has learned absolutely nothing.

catgirl1976 · 26/08/2018 11:31

YANBU.

I don't wish to judge AC, it sounds like they had a horrendous childhood and may well be a victim.

But the Green Party appear to do no due diligence or safe guarding checks. I'm also wondering how someone whose children were on a risk register and had been removed was involved in the Scouts.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 26/08/2018 11:36

Aimee is quite young

  1. Apparently.

And has been committing libel against 50,000 people on behalf of the Green Party, risking their livelihoods and safety, including their jobs, children, families and friends.

Weird how AC is responsible enough to be given the freedom to libel 50,000 people on behalf of the Green Party, whilst simultaneously being a young person in need of protection.

BraveAndStunning · 26/08/2018 12:28

Lisa Muggeridge sums it up perfectly

stolemyusername · 26/08/2018 12:35

OP, I have reported this thread to MN to ask them to fix your title. You made light of your spelling error but I opened this expecting a wind up thread. Please also ask MNHQ to edit also.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 26/08/2018 12:57

Lisa Muggeridge sums it up perfectly

She does. Every time.

NameChangedAgain18 · 26/08/2018 13:04

Thanks stole - I've reported and asked for the typo to be corrected.

I was reading the comments in the Sunday Times link earlier. I've just gone back to read more and all the comments have been deleted.
That seems quite odd.

Banana8080 · 26/08/2018 13:30

It’s staggering. I used to be a spokesperson for that party, I’m not even a member now.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 13:55

I really cannot understand why this is not being reported in the mainstream media.
I read the article in the DM when it came out and there was no mention at all with his links to the GP
he Had previous convictions for animal cruelty and had his children removed by SS.
One comment in the sun is from a woman who was involved with his wife and said she blindly believed everything he said.

So we could assume the whole family were brainwashed. In that case it’s the GP responsibility to DO checks. Not rely on a very young person potentially brainwashed by her father.

Banana8080 · 26/08/2018 13:59

I’m wondering if there’s some type of super injunction protecting Aimee, otherwise dailymail would be all over it

lowtide · 26/08/2018 14:09

There can’t be if the times have reported it.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 14:10

Interesting. This was published in 2015

DisneyMillie · 26/08/2018 14:37

The more I read these days the more scared I become for my daughters’ futures.

Sarahconnor1 · 26/08/2018 15:22

There are rumours that there was an injunction preventing the reporting of the relationship between aimee and David which was successfully challenged.

Jess Bradley also tried unsuccessfully to get an injunction to prevent reporting of their own behaviour only a month or so ago.

Which makes me wonder how much else is being kept quiet.

The green party failed in some very very basic safeguarding duties and their response since has been awful.

lowtide · 26/08/2018 15:32

As I said on the thread in feminist board that there are STILL photos of her father on her twitter account out and about campaigning for the GP.
I mean are they fucking insane to allow things like that?
