I agree!
I miss them.

redshoeblueshoe · 23/08/2018 20:12

I love a good parking thread.

Where I live there are very few spaces, and my neighbours are so lovely there has never been a single argument bastards

anothernameagain000 · 23/08/2018 20:14

Don’t worry they’ll be back as soon as the New school term starts Smile

KlutzyDraconequus · 23/08/2018 20:16

For the first time ever, I have a drive. It's marvelous. I like to reverse on tho and sometimes the people opposite park their second car in such a fashion that I have to reverse and manoeuvre 3 times.
Grr.. that's mildly inconvenient...

stillnotTheDoctor · 23/08/2018 20:23

Ah I forgot they were worse round school times

I have a drive but don’t park on it because I can’t close the gates when the car is on there, and I like to keep them closed to keep the children in the garden.
I park on the street instead (where there is loads of parking) my neighbours park one of their 4 cars over my drive and it annoys the crap out of me even though I don’t use it

MargaretDribble · 23/08/2018 20:31

Our neighbours park in front of our house and it annoys our dog. Is he being unreasonable?

I haven't got a car, or a drive, all on street here but I can get irrationally enraged by poor parking, willing to make something up Grin

anothernameagain000 · 23/08/2018 20:34

Oh and if it helps - my neighbours gardener blocked my car in today (shared drive thingy). I asked him politely to move and he did.

Eliza9917 · 23/08/2018 20:35

That's just not good enough

jayho · 23/08/2018 20:35

My neighbour sometimes parks outside my house rather than hers because my side of the street is in the shade. It doesn't bother me.

stillnotTheDoctor · 23/08/2018 20:37

I did recently read the experience of someone in Australia who mistakenly left her car parked over the wrong drive (she thought it was her friend's drive) during the evening and came back to find it broken into, belongings thrown everywhere and the gear box trashed. Called the police - they knew the owner of the drive had done it because he'd called them about it blocking his drive, and refused to do anything about it. So she can't claim off her insurance.

It is summer and so some people are away, and parking spaces may be easier to find. Less people on trains as well (where they run, sorry Mumsnetters in Lancashire without Northern Fail), quieter roads.

Probably the same on Maman net, or whatever the French call their equivalent site, as the mass holiday takes place.

NoLightInTheTunnel · 23/08/2018 21:04

At the block of flats where I live there are a lot more cars than parking spaces. Yet frequently, there are 2 cars taking up 4 spaces. Always the same buggers. But they have now moved out, sorry Grin. There is still one that parks over the line and takes up 2 spaces, but not very often.

chocolateworshipper · 23/08/2018 22:11

Put your address on here and one of us will come and block you in Grin

DeadBod · 23/08/2018 22:18

We're constantly chuntering about our neighbours parking their 3 cars outside our house forcing us to park down the next street. Unfortunately, it's a free for all and they have every right to park there so I can hardly start a thread. We'll continue with the evil eyes in their direction.

redshoeblueshoe · 23/08/2018 22:18

Chocolate that's a great idea, it would only take one badly parked car to block in 3 families in our road.
As I said - we all get on - but we could unite against
THE BAD PARKING PERSON Grin

CurbsideProphet · 23/08/2018 22:26

We have a v reasonable sized drive, but other houses in the road don't (oddly uneven plots). When MIL comes round she gets v stressed about our neighbours parking outside our house and opposite our driveway, even though she doesn't live here and it shouldn't matter to her Grin

Kismett · 23/08/2018 22:35

I have a weird fascination with the parking threads because parking here baffles me. How new roads and developments don’t take street parking into consideration so people block pavements or even one half of the road.

Am also baffled by the house with more cars than people.

On the other hand, we have a space in front of our house, not part of the road or blocking the pavement. We don’t use it and our neighbours rarely do. So polite! I’ve told a few with smaller drives that they are welcome to use it for guests, etc.

Marmite27 · 23/08/2018 22:42

Our next door neighbor seems incapable of parking next to the curb. Her car isuly looks like it’s been abandoned in the middle of the road.

Mr-over-the-road has what feels like a million relatives and they all seem to visit at once and all drive ford galaxy type vehicles. I was a bit miffed when I struggled to get my Ford Focus down the street today due it two of them parked on opposite sides of the street. Simply because, if I struggled the bin lorry/ambulance/fire engine would have no chance. They’d gone by the time I got home though.

BlueBug45 · 23/08/2018 23:09

Mmmm lots of people in my flats have seemed to have gone on holiday so I can't complain about my CF neighbours who have 4 cars for one property meaning I can still find a parking space so I can get into my car at 9 months pregnant. Oh and one of my other neighbours is lovely I parked badly the other day and she parked so I could still get into my car.

Mamamiaherewegoagainmymy · 23/08/2018 23:12

I put one on about a caravan parking on a tiny road but hardly any comments. Had a diagram too! Shame. In the end I reported my own threads as had an inkling neighbour might have seen thread. Do there you go. I DID try lol

Mamamiaherewegoagainmymy · 23/08/2018 23:13

So not do!
