My dad and I were moving some heavy things from my flat and he’d parked at the end of the street. Went to double park closer just to load up and the amazon delivery guy jumped back in his van, gave us his space and parked in the space we’d just vacated.

All the houses in our Close have parking spaces. Some people are greedy. Actually not many,it's normally just one entitled family isn't it.We have camper van issues elsewhere in the town. People don't want them in their drive so they're littered all along the roads making visibility hard at times.Things are going to really hot up when all the kids become drivers in our Close. We only have 1 car each which we can easily accommodate in our drive. Will be most amusing watching said selfish arses trying to shoe horn yet more vehicles in alongside their newbie driving/parking teen trying to manoeuvre round the mess they've created.Grin

Don't get me started on new builds and their parking. They are building hundreds of houses here in an area with poor public transport with one parking space each.
Most of the people moving in have two cars because they needed two jobs to buy the house in the first place, so already people are parking on the kerbs, and of course the roads are quite narrow to get more houses in. I would not buy one of them that's for sure.

I was mildly surprised there wasn't a thread on this one ...

It's a shame, as it's a brilliant example of shit dog whistle reporting. It sounds like an issue we should all be up in arms about ... until you actually read it. At which point, frankly, it becomes a non-story.

I'll leave the twist for you to find Grin ....

www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/uk-news/livid-homeowner-told-council-cant-15043349

A homeowner was left fuming after being told she can't park on her own driveway.
The woman, from Merseyside, was told she will face legal action if she parks on the drive belonging to her house.
Helen Maloney, from Southport in Liverpool, received a letter from her local council.
Apparently, she is one of a number of residents who have received the letters.
The message from the local council states her property is off limit to cars.

(contd)

@stillnotTheDoctor no just thought I’d point out another example of really nice parking behaviour which means no juicy parking thread. I mean a delivery driver shouldn’t be so polite.

My NDN's cleaner always parks blocking her drive so when NDN gets home, she has to drive over my drive to get to hers. I don't like NDN. I've taken to parking at the top of my drive so that cleaner has to move her car so NDN can park.

Also.

I live in a cul de sac and the next street is a 'walk' with garages behind. They use the turning bay as parking spaces so we can turn our cars around to leave the street. Drives me mad and there's bugger all I can do! EIGHT cars parked there one day last week, they must have all known each other as had blocked one another in. Sometimes the neighbour at the bottom will block the road as she can't get on her drive if it's too busy. I do the same if the mood strikes.
