To ask you what is your favourite chocolate bar?

Inspired by the "what the fuck have they done to chocolate?" thread where many of us are on a quest to find the best milk chocolate bar now that Cadbury's doesn't taste like Cadbury's, can I ask you to share your favourite chocolate bar (not literally Grin) and say what it is about it you like? Eg the texture, the smell, the flavour itself (nutty, milky, creamy, bitter etc), creaminess... however you would describe it.

(According to another thread the Brits are obsessed with chocolate so I'm happy to prove them right Grin).

Oooh and Caramac too! Childhood favourite, still love it.

Canshopwillshop · 21/08/2018 23:08

Cadbury’s dairy milk cold from fridge.

Glumglowworm · 21/08/2018 23:08

Butterfingers

Yes American chocolate is awful put the peanut crunchy filling is worth it

AdoraBell · 21/08/2018 23:09

Good grief, I can’t chose just one it’s impossible. Too many variables.

Am I stressed? Okay, milk chocolate

Stressed and completely raging? Don’t give a flying fuck as long as it’s sugar laden.

Feeling okay, life on track? 70% cocoa from anyone who does a good one. Could be Lindt, Hotel Chocolat, Lidl dark chocolate etc, etc.

AdoraBell · 21/08/2018 23:11

Oh, and nothing with peanuts in any form. Ever.

EnormousDormouse · 21/08/2018 23:12

Aldi dark chocolate, cherry and chilli bars. The crack of the chocolate world.

Dahlietta · 21/08/2018 23:13

@PerverseConverse I know (thank god Grin), but it was axed about 15 years ago and then brought back as some sort of public campaign. There were several years when it was tragically dormant (I remember them clearly).

Botanicbaby · 21/08/2018 23:18

Ritter salted honey & almond. Sold out last time I looked Angry

danni0509 · 21/08/2018 23:18

Star bar

onewayoflife · 21/08/2018 23:21

Aldi cherry and chilli dark chocolate.

How did I not know this existed? Three of my favourite things.

Thank you MN!

Oh and mine is aero (at least until I try this cherry chilli combo) because I can convince myself it's mainly air and therefore not that unhealthy

HopefullyAnonymous · 21/08/2018 23:22

Boost! Can’t believe I’m the first one to say it!

FromNowOn · 21/08/2018 23:22

Twirl.

Claw001 · 21/08/2018 23:24

Raspberry Ruffles, remind me of my childhood

FromNowOn · 21/08/2018 23:25

I used to like a Time Out and Wispa mint.

Babymammy · 21/08/2018 23:25

Also one for a star bar

Parisbun · 21/08/2018 23:29

LIdl almond milk chocolate bar. . I love the crunchy nuts and they are a health food ...right?

ramalamadingdong1 · 21/08/2018 23:31

@smigglepiggle

I know a guy who used to ripples as sex aids on women 😂😂 I’ve never been able to look at one the same since I found that out.

Star Bars are my favourite (to eat not as a sex aid I should add!)

tiddlyipom · 21/08/2018 23:32

I love Raspberry Ruffles!! (unfortunately can't get them where I live.)
Jamaica Old Gold rum and raisin and Cadbury's Dairy Milk - but the Australian stuff only.I used to get visitors to bring out the British stuff but no more, it is disgusting since the US takeover.
And dark Bounty bars but they are a rare beast in Australia, I have to buy them online.

Lisabel · 21/08/2018 23:33

Any filled milk chocolate or white chocolate bar, as long as it's not Hersheys and doesn't involve fruit!

The only chocolate I can't stand is very dark chocolate with raspberries or other fruit. Plain milk chocolate gets a bit boring after a few bites.

I love;

  • Kitkat chunky because the chocolate is quite thick and the wafer is a nice contrast in flavour
  • Twix- the caramel is delicious and goes nicely with the biscuit
  • Caramel (Cadbury or Galaxy)- chocolate + caramel- what's not to love!
  • Boost- another combination of biscuit, caramel and some yummy chocolate truffle
  • Milkybar- yummy creamy white chocolate
  • Mars-the actual chocolate that Mars company make is delicious, add caramel and nougat- om nom,
-- Snickers- as above plus nuts, -- Giant Buttons -- Flake

Oh nooo, I can feel my motivation to diet waning. We should be discussing favourite fruit or favourite cruciferous vegetable :-P.

Babdoc · 21/08/2018 23:35

I don’t like any bars much, but I do like boxes of Guylian chocolate sea shells - I eat one a week!
Back in the 1960’s we had a bar called Mackintosh’s Toffee Cup, which I adored as a child. Really smooth runny caramel inside a good quality yummy chocolate - it was heaven! I think it cost 3d, so less than 2p in modern money! I haven’t seen one for decades though, sadly.

TheMadGardener · 21/08/2018 23:38

Ritter milk chocolate with cornflakes in it. Divine.

Claw001 · 21/08/2018 23:41

tildy I get packs of five from the Pound Shop. Shame I cannot send you some!

tigercub50 · 21/08/2018 23:41

Ooh I’d forgotten about Old Jamaica. Think you can buy it online. I also love the dark Bounty bars & I like Nestle crunch with the crisped rice. I treated myself to a luxury Italian chocolate bar with hazelnuts from M & S & that was really good. And I once won some chocolates from Montezuma which were quality 🍫

jaimebravo · 21/08/2018 23:41

Baileys Chocolate truffles are the best so nice..failing that Ritter Rum and hazelnut.
I seem to have a type with the booze and chocolate combo!

nononsene · 21/08/2018 23:42

Aldi cherry and chilli is my favourite. In fact it’s the favourite of everyone in our house.
