I see many posts where people seem to believe either that SS will offer support and that parents who are loving and coping but struggling can contact them for a hand-hold, or posts where people believe a not ideal yet normal situation can and should be reported.

I don't know, when resources have been put forward as an explanation you dismiss it.

I suppose my point is you are obviously angry, you imply you are part of a group of angry people. What do you want to do to change things? What do you think needs to change?

Our brief timeline of events.

Son’s school attendance due to Autism, school related anxiety, self harm etc, is patchy. CAMHS had confirmed this in several reports.

I ask school to back my request for EHCP assessment to enable my son’s attendence to increase. School said don’t know what you are talking about, he has no difficulties etc (despite having copies of his dx, SALT, OT, CAMHS reports)

I apply for EHCP regardless. SENCO phones LA, saying ds has no difficulties mum is bonkers. They agree to report me to SS (copy of school file)

SW turned up at my door. I’ve taken steps to ensure he can ie asked for EHCP assessment. Showed her CAMHS, OT etc reports regarding self harm, school anxiety and needs, which school are not meeting. Ds shows her some of self harm injuries. I later discover she had recorded ds does not self harm, he has been bitten by gnats!!

Case is escalated to next stage (without my knowledge) Different SW interviews ds in school (without my knowledge) he shows her his self harm injuries, tells her he is suicidal due to having to attend school etc. She phones and tells me to pick up immediately and take him A&E for emergency mental health assessment.

Ds is made subject to a CAMHS safety plan, part of which is not to attend school if it increases his self harm and suicidal thoughts. It does, so ds doesn’t attend. We are waiting 2 weeks for further CAMHS appointment.

I take ds to GP and GP signs ds off school until seen by CAMHS.

Meeting is held with SW and school for a plan to return ds, which will go ahead whether I agree or not. SW had phoned GP. SW tells meeting GP has reversed her decision (GP had not) they want ds to attend without making any change to the support. I say I will follow CAMHS advice and not send him.

SW asks me to sign a document saying if ds does not attend, I give permission for CP proceedings to start. I refuse.

I ask for copies of all assessments and on evidence case is being escalated. Get a copy of core assessment, written that day, littered with inaccuracies.

Case is escalated (without my knowledge) SW turns up making all kinds of threats and chases ds around the house, telling him she is going to take him school herself.

Official complaint. Ds’s file goes missing.

HOW TIMELINE SHOULD READ

School and LA report me for being bonkers, due to thinking ds has no difficulties.

SW reads reports dx, CAMHS, OT, SALT etc. SW checks with GP mum has no mental health difficulties. SW checks with me what action I’m taking to ensure school attendance.

SW then tells school and LA to do a bloody EHCP assessment and to fuck off and stop wasting their time!
