(Lighthearted)

When having a scone do you put the jam on first and then the cream, or the cream on first and then the jam?

And do you pronounce scone like “Scoan” or ”Scon”?

I pronounce it as Scon!

guccihandbag · 20/08/2018 14:55

Frosty6611 · 20/08/2018 14:55

Buttering a scone before the jam and cream?! That’s just added a whole new curve ball to the argument

Although cream, jam, scon is also acceptable.

MaxPepsi · 20/08/2018 14:56

Butter, jam, cream, fresh strawberries.

I pronounce it both ways.

Cheese ones are best, with extra cheese. Obviously!

champagnesupernouveaux · 20/08/2018 14:56

Jam first, definitely.

And scon.

Madbengalmum · 20/08/2018 14:58

As for butter, jam, cream AND strawberries ...!!

And pronounced ‘scon’ Smile

Merryoldgoat · 20/08/2018 15:03

Cream, then jam.

Scone to rhyme with gone but don’t have an issue with the other pronunciation.
