AIBU?
To think microwave scrambled eggs are minging?

So the baby is napping and toddler is out with his grandad for a few hours. I've just had scrambled eggs cooked in butter on the hob, served on hot buttered wholemeal toast. It was absolutely delicious!
However, when i was younger and my mum used to make scrambled eggs she always did them in the microwave..so dry and rubbery! Turned me off scrambled eggs for years!
So AIBU in thinking that eggs should not be scrambled in the microwave? Any other cooking 'methods' people use that are just 'wrong'? One of my friends cooks pasta in the slow cooker... it must be so overcooked! It hardly takes long on the hob!

You can cook them in the microwave but they have to be done slowly and in stages, they can be easily overlooked.
It's much easier to just do them on the hob and easier to get them right. I do mind in a non stick frying pan with butter as the pan is easier to clean.

No! Microwaved scrambled eggs are amazing IF cooked properly. I always take them out 5-10 seconds before they look ready, as they are so hot that the cooking process continues outside the microwave. I just them a good stir and find they are perfect, avoiding the rubbery over-cooked mess.

Scrambled eggs are undoubtedly better done in a pan. However, I think it is a bit OTT to say they are "minging" from the microwave. If you are careful about the times and don't overdo them then I think it is possible to get acceptable results.
My mum used to grill "fried eggs" IYSWIM, i.e. she would put the egg in the bottom of the grill pan and cook under the grill. Weird.

coralmulberry surely they cook quicker in a pan? She never microwaves them now I have shown her the way!
5foot5 at least the yolk will have been cooked properly? Nothing worse than a snotty egg..
Still not convinced there's any advantage to microwaving them..
Cook off?

I think most things taste better when cooked the “proper” way tbh, Microwaves cooking is only ok if in a rush
Porridge
Eggs
Cake (yes I know people that make microwave mug cakes)
Even ready meals taste better when oven cooked than microwaved
But yes completely agree about scrambled eggs they are wonderful when done on the hob with butter and a dash of cream plus lots of black pepper and a pinch of sea salt 😋
