Title based on what a college professor used to tell us when the going got tough.

"Just remember when you're standing shoulder deep in horse shit, there's a pony in there somewhere. So just keep digging".

'No, impeachment will not crash the stock market.'

Beauregard can bite back, he knows McConnell et al have his back and have told the Oaf so. Of course he should speak out to defend the Dept of Justice and all those who uphold the law. Other than that, I know his history, what he believes, what he is, what his aims are and how he is quietly carrying them out. So do McConnell, Hatch, Grassley, Ryan and the rest, that is why they have his back; he is one of them.

cozietoesie · 23/08/2018 19:08

.... A larger concern among some investors is that Trump survives but Republicans are so damaged by him that they lose both the House and Senate, putting market-friendly policies more at risk.

“If the scandal helps both the House and Senate to go Democrat to a point where they could reverse tax or regulatory policies, that would matter to the markets,” Paulsen said. “But this seems unlikely and even if both go Democrat it would mean gridlock for Trump’s term, not much different.”.....

Or rather, mimi, Mary Blackshear is one of them. Grin

She hardly took her adoring eyes of ole Beau during his Senate confirmation hearing, cozie, apart from the odd dagger at a nasty Dem. I think she is still a Sunday School teacher. They do not represent any aspect of Christianity that their Christ would recognise, but how righteous they are in their own eyes.

cozietoesie · 23/08/2018 19:39

She certainly received some ' Hail fellow, well met! ' (but very respectfully so) remarks from senators when I saw her at a senate hearing. Wink

On that MJ clip, Gump . I'm sick of Deutsch taking up airtime with his pity parade for Cohen to rehabilitate his image. His friend is a thuggish crook, his testimony against the Oaf is useful now, but he is still a thuggish crook. However, what he said about Cult 45 was spot on. Nothing will turn them. They believe every word from the Oaf, over their family, friends, priest, pastor. They believe him unquestioningly, unreservedly. And that is a huge and dangerous problem.

cozietoesie · 23/08/2018 19:56

.... “There’s a normal way to do this and then there’s the way they did it.”....Grin

Gumpendorf · 23/08/2018 20:14

An interesting viewpoint:

I've long said that Trump will only fear Mueller/DOJ more than he fears Putin if DOJ/NYS can BK Trump Org as easily as Russians can.

This Pecker development gets closer to doing that.

I'm reading BK as bankrupt,

I agree and add Emily Jane Fox to the Cohen 'whisperers' as Mika B calls them, mimi

Weird little snippet at the end of one of those articles: Giuliani is holidaying in... Aberdeen.

Guess he's actually out of town at a golf club...

Cannot confirm but I think this song was playing when he arrived.

He's here for a meeting with President Trump to discuss prison reform, along with Jared Kushner and Mercedes Schlapp, a White House official confirms. To be a fly on that wall.

Here's hoping OGE leading with "willfully omitting information on ethics disclosures" prods the media to do a better job covering Trump omitting his debt to Cohen from his June 2017 disclosure, in light of SDNY's criminal information confirming payments to Cohen started Feb 2017.
U.S. OGE
@OfficeGovEthics
There are criminal penalties for some ethics violations, like willfully omitting information on ethics disclosures, working on government matters when one has a financial conflict, and accepting money from private persons in exchange for doing government work.

I think some people don't realize it's a big deal, but it's a crime if done knowingly and willfully. (Check out 5 U.S.C. app. § 104 and 18 USC § 1001, and check out OGE's referral of Trump to the Justice Department, (link: www.newsweek.com/trump-stormy-daniels-payment-justice-department-930088) newsweek.com/trump-stormy-d…)

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
'One of the three men convicted in the attack on DeAndre Shakur Harris will spend the next eight years in prison.

Jacob Scott Goodwin had claimed he was defending himself against Harris in the Market Street Parking Garage on August 12, 2017. The Arkansas man was found guilty of malicious wounding back on May 1, 2018.

Video footage from last year's Unite the Right rally showed Goodwin dressed in militia-style gear.

Thursday, August 23, a judge in Charlottesville Circuit Court sentenced Goodwin to a total of ten years, but two were suspended. He must also have 20 years of good behavior and serve probation.'
