In all the coverage I've seen so far about the differences between Manafort's and Cohen's reactions to being investigated, and Trump's support or otherwise for them, no one seems to have mentioned one obvious difference: Cohen's just a crooked local lawyer; Manafort may be on the Russian ticket.

the offence is not declaring a payment that was intended to influence the election isn't it? - if it had come from campaign funds it would presumably have been ok - so has he misunderstood and dropped himself further into the poo?
