Why can everyone else do this and not me......

Right first off sorry to AIBU but I have tried other boards and had no answer so this place is my last resort.

So I have heard you can customise so that OP post are a different colour.

I've looked back at through posts on this topic and they all give this link:

Except when I go to it it doesn't have that option. It doesn't have many option tbh just.....

I am using a laptop with Chrome but I have also tried with Safari and it's the same.

Any ideas why?

And just to keep on topic AIBU that this has sent me into a temper that is completely out of proportion to the actual problem.....

OP's posts should be green (including your own OPs and subsequent posts on the same thread) and your own posts should be pink. Are you not getting those colours?

It's not that they should be coloured, you need to choose that.

On the desktop site click on the down arrow to the right of the word ”talk” at the top left of the active convos page and choose the customise option, you can pick your own colour

If you go to the Talk board. Just to the right of the word 'Talk' there is an arrow. Click on it then go to customise, then there is one to change the colour of the authors posts.

I get green and pink but no option to change colour in the 'customise' menu (takes you to same place as OP's link). Are you supposed to be able to change those two colours? I thought they'd be the same for everyone.

It does it automatically in the app, but not the website. Update your app?

On the desktop version you can choose your colours both for the OPs post and yours.

Nope, I'm using my desktop right now, no option to customise colours.

I only really use mobile site and I’ve never been able to customise it.

I have a choice of 6 colours, I'd assume everyone has the same but if you don't then obviously not but that seems a lot of work to have different options for different posters.

I'm actually on the desktop site on my phone, I haven't actually double checked on my computer.

What do you get if you try that?

That’s not what I get, Sooz. Mine looks like the picture on patti’s post.

It’s the same whether I go through the link in the op, or through customise from the menu.

Ah. I think it’s the difference between the desktop and mobile site.

If I switch from desktop to mobile it looks like Sooz’s picture.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page, click where it says desktop site and then try again.

I get the same view as Patti on my laptop, except I've picked a different colour for the OP's posts (my own posts are also lavender blush).

Sooz what happens if you click the down arrow on the screen in your screenshot? The one on the top right?

I have 1000 posts per page, can't be doing with multiple pages. I don't know if you can still choose that

While we’re at it, I don’t know how to tag people in or highlight a section of their text in cold either, everyone else does it!

On desktop click on the tiny circle with a V in it by the word Talk then you can click on Customise.

You tag someone by typing @ before their name but they may have notifications turned off.

I highlight in bold by copying the text then using the bold * but there may be an easier way

I don't get the options that PattiStanger gets. Just the one similar to SoozC .

Its making me unreasonably cross!!!!
