and thank you for reinforcing my pointing out that it wasn't antisemitism it was anti israel. completely different things, I hope.

I didn't reinforce that at all.
In fact, I made no mention at all of the difference between being an anti-Semite & anti-Israel policy.
That is because I have no interest in playing along with your faux ignorance on the subject.

You must be mixing me up with another poster.

Can we criticise Israel without being labelled anti-Semitic then?

My2favboys · 14/08/2018 00:30

ginghambox so far he's spoken out against Israel. which by current standards means he somehow hates all Jews. how does that make sense? im still waiting to hear what jeremy has done that is antisemitic?

ginghambox · 14/08/2018 00:33

good talkiin from HQ

My2favboys · 14/08/2018 00:37

sorry DaisyTwirl I know you personally weren't doing that but it seems to be that you can't be anti israel without automatically being antisemitic which makes me very uncomfortable.

DaisyTwirl · 14/08/2018 00:38

Why are you asking me this question when you posted this yourself only 2 posts before?:

"It’s pretty simple ginghambox. Criticism of Israel is not the same as being critical of Jewish religion"

I am confused.
You seem to be quite clear that there is a difference, then you ask me if there is s difference.
Did you forget that you knew there was a difference in the few minutes between posts?

My2favboys · 14/08/2018 00:40

well ginghambox once your hq get back to you with the different will you please be so kind as to post here for us all to see.

DaisyTwirl · 14/08/2018 00:40

Disingenuous.
Stop pretending.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/08/2018 00:41

I wouldn’t say that JC is necessary an Anti Semite but also nothing he has done has shown that is isn’t an issue he is particularly concerned about until he absolutely had and was pushed to that is not the action she we should accept from leader f the Labour Party

Friend of terrorists Hamas (who want to see Israel destroyed ) when excatly did he meet with Israeli parties to discuss peace

And I guess those who beleive he was fronting the way for Blair also believe the establishment are running scared Grin

OlennasWimple · 14/08/2018 00:41

I find the devout support for JC on this thread quite chilling TBH

DaisyTwirl · 14/08/2018 00:42

Are you anti-Israel? or anti-Israeli govt policy/actions My2favboys?

Havabiscuit · 14/08/2018 00:42

daisytwirl. Don’t play daft!
I am asking you your opinion. Can we criticise Israel without being labelled anti Semitic.

DaisyTwirl · 14/08/2018 00:46

Can we criticise Israel without being labelled anti Semitic.

You articulated the difference perfectly well yourself in your post before mine.
Why do you require me to reiterate what you have already said?

Havabiscuit · 14/08/2018 00:46

I don’t think there is devout support for JC. Certainly not from me. However on this issue he has so clearly been under attack I do feel we should call it out.

Havabiscuit · 14/08/2018 00:47

There is a difference between me explaining it and your opinion on whether that’s right or not. Stop wriggling and give us an answer

ginghambox · 14/08/2018 00:48
Grin
DaisyTwirl · 14/08/2018 00:50

I'm not wriggling.
I agree with what you said.
I'm just confused as to why you are so desperate for me to reiterate what you had posted already is all.

It wasn't me who was being disingenuous about not understanding if there is a difference - that was a different poster.

TornFromTheInside · 14/08/2018 00:51

I'm no fan of Corbyn either.
I want to see more evidence against him though.

KittyHawke80 · 14/08/2018 00:53

@Puzzledandpissedoff - You’re talking, of course, absolute bollocks. If I object to the killing of Bosnians by Serbs in Srebrenica in the early nineties, that doesn’t make me pro-Islam and anti-Orthodox Christian - it makes me someone who objects to the practice of ethnic cleansing. And as far as telling someone that they may be mistaken if they think they’re the victim of racism, you’re depending upon that being a honestly-held belief, and you’re straying into the territory of ‘If a person thinks they’ve been sexually assaulted/abused, then they have been’. For what it’s worth, I believe that racism is essentially prejudice in concert with power and/or privilege, so I think it’s bs when white peoples claim to be the victims of racism, and I think it’s very sadly true that most black people in Britain today, have been the victim of some form of racism. I wish that were not the case.

What’s ‘interesting’, too, is that you’re assuming I’m not Jewish . . .

My2favboys · 14/08/2018 00:54

DaisyTwirl I'm not pretending. honestly think we'll be in serious trouble if you can't speak out agsinst a country without the majority religion of that country calling you antI whatever. the actions of putin have been disgraceful however that should make me anti Christian should it? and it's policies of the government in Israel atm.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/08/2018 00:59

He has been attacked becuase it just supports the evidence that the issue of anti semitism isn’t an issue for him

Now why is that acceptable for he leader of the Labour Party

Sitting on the back benches in a very safe seat doing very little but meeting with those that oppose the UK and US governments and being a thorn in the side of those actually working hard being in opposition or running the country is all he has ever done

Fucking waste of three years we have had this idiot while the government have done as they please and his idiot followers still cry the establishment are running scared

Ffs the idiot has to go

Havabiscuit · 14/08/2018 01:05

daisytwirl
You said ( sarcastically) Yes of course, we should feel sorry for those poor, misguided terrorists - mutilating, castrating & killing innocent athletes for the crime of being from Israel
So given that since 1948 there has been an illegal occupation of Palestinian territory, the legitimate political voice of the Palestinians has been silenced in the UN by the US veto ( I gave a link to a list of the vetos earlier) are you surprised that terrorism surfaces? The ANC arose in similar circumstances as others have done throughout history.
This weekend as I said before, a journalist friend was handed the severed finger of an 18 month old baby whose pregnant mother had just been killed by the illegally occupying Israeli Gov forces. Is that deserved by the “crime” of being Palestinian?

Until the world condemns this occupation and gives the Palestinians some justice the situation will continue. Corbyn is right to
draw attention to the Palestinian plight and is one of the few politicians brave enough to speak out. I like him for that.

KittyHawke80 · 14/08/2018 01:12

Who, pray, is working hard running the country? I didn’t know government was a undercover operation, but it fucking must be, because I’ve yet to see a single Tory working hard running the country. Working hard running it into the ground, possibly.

I will agree that he has absolutely failed to do enough to address the issue of anti-Semitism in the party, and this creates the unavoidable impression, not that he thinks there isn’t much (which is what I think, rightly or wrongly) but that he thinks it’s a non-issue. Which is dangerous.

He’s, er, not an idiot. At all.

Havabiscuit · 14/08/2018 01:23

kittyhawk
The Gov are working very hard trying to square the Brexit circle within their own ranks.
Meantime, the country is going down the pan.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 14/08/2018 01:24

That referred to Kinnock, Blair and Brown

He isn’t a thorn in the side of May he is a gift to her, the their next leader (probably Boris) and the Tory party

He hasn’t just failed to deal with the anti semitism in The Labour Party he has shown that it is something he doesn’t take seriously. Did he condemn Ken Livingstone straight no he didn’t and this is just one incident

And as for him being the opposition leader what opposition does he put up

He doesn’t he is utterly useless Labour have wasted three years at a time when the country needed more than ever a strong opposition and a a party leader that would deal with the anit semitism that has always been associated with the far left who now have power over the party
