Have been given a last minute opportunity to grab a few days alone.
Wish list:
Short haul or quick to get to.
Luxury/ 5 star hotel.
Quiet -ish.
Big swimming pool.

Where should I go? Need to make a quick decision and too much choice!

The Commodore Elite Suites and Spa in Turkey. Pay to get one of the best rooms if possible. It isn't ludicrously ovwrpicedt but very nice. Adults only.

I’ve always fancied the Sheraton Salobre in Gran Canaria but DH prefers beach to pool and it’s sligjtly off the coast into the mountains (but with sea views still). Stunning location.

Narrow your serach based on ideal teperature and flight times. I am sure anywhere in a 5 star hotel with the sun shining will be lovely 😊

ParkheadParadise · 11/08/2018 11:02

AMATHUS BEACH HOTEL LIMASSOL CYPRUS.
DH and I had a week here in June.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 11/08/2018 11:04

Check the weather forecast for Sweden. The Upper House in Gothenburg has an amazing spa and is a lovely hotel. You can get a ferry to the western archipelago for days out. Just come back from there and it was about 25-30 degrees and sunny every day. It was different from the Med and really civilised and lovely.

The Ritz Carlton Abama - Tenerife.

Some holiday websites you can enter destination ANY and it will bring up holidays in various locations for your choice of dates. I like to visit places that I have not visited before, so the ANY destination is good

Given from your requirements it sounds like you'll just be hanging around in the hotel pool and bar, absolutely anywhere with good weather.

GlacierMints · 11/08/2018 13:27

thanks for the suggestions.

I've already done lots of searching but that's why I posted. There is just too much choice as to place and then hotels and looking for one with a good pool becomes time consuming - I want to swim so I don't want an interesting shaped kiddy shallow pool.

What I really could do with is someone to say - go here, I've been, luxurious, great service, nice pool, recommended.

The scarlet hotel itself looks nice but the pool seems to be indoor and a bit small.

Hotel Bristol in Sorrento x

EscapistTendencies · 11/08/2018 13:36

I'd be looking at somewhere like portals neus in majorca. Nice upmarket resort near palma with lots of adult only/spa type hotels . Quick flight and short transfer.

AuntieStella · 11/08/2018 13:39

Does your swimming have to be in a pool, or would hotel with immediate proximity to a swimmable sea be acceptable?

iluvsummer · 11/08/2018 15:10

I can highly recommend the Pure Salt Port Adriano hotel which overlooks the harbour in Port Adriano! Pure luxury!

DisplayPurposesOnly · 11/08/2018 17:22

I haven't stayed at the Scarlet myself but friends have enthused about it. I thought there were indoor and outdoor pools though and, having checked TripAdvisor, that's what the reviews say too.

Hope you find something.
