Builders parked trailer on my drive

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 10:29

From 8am this morning there has been a trailer full of crap on my driveway parked next to my car, so as soon as dh has left for work they have took his space.
The neighbours across from us are having their garden done up and getting work done. What pisses me off even more is the neighbours car is in his driveway which he could have moved to let the builder twats in.
I have parked my car so that they find it hard to get into the trailer.
I don't want to block them in incase they leave it there overnight, assuming they will be here all week.
I've beeped the horn and nobody has came and I've chapped the door but nobody answering.
I am fucking raging.

Put a note through the neighbours door telling them they have 10 minutes to move the vehicle or you are phoning a tow truck and having it removed.

Charm23 · 07/08/2018 10:33

I'd be pissed! It's just plain rude to park on your property without at least asking first. I'd continue to knock until they answer and then tell them to move it before you get it clamped!

Hidillyho · 07/08/2018 10:34

You know the rules. Parking thread always requires a drawn pic or it hasn’t happened

honeysucklejasmine · 07/08/2018 10:35

Can you go round the side and talk to builders directly?

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 10:35

The neighbours aren't friendly and I'm worried it's going to end in a massive argument. They oddly don't have a van just a trailer....so you would need a car or van to tow it. So they have intentially left it there for the day or days to come.

How heavy is it? Could you move it?

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 10:37

Nope I can't move it. It's full of stuff like machinery

nononsene · 07/08/2018 10:37

take the brake off and let it roll off your drive (as long as it won't hit anything obvs)

HolyMountain · 07/08/2018 10:38

There needs to be an argument; get that fucking trailer off my drive, now!

BabySharkDooDooDooDoo · 07/08/2018 10:39

Id be chapping the door and demanding it be moved or i would be phoning 101

TheMaddHugger · 07/08/2018 10:39

stick a sign on it.... 'Trailer FREE. Please take'

BlueBug45 · 07/08/2018 10:40

Tell the neighbour the trailer needs to be removed within 20 minutes, or you will ensure it's in the middle of the road.

Then get help to put it there if you cannot move it on your own. Once it's in the middle of the road call the police.

Hadalifeonce · 07/08/2018 10:40

Do you know for certain the trailer belongs to whoever is working in your neighbour's garden. If so I would speak with the workers direct for them to remove it from your property. If not, try to pull it off your drive onto the road..

IAmInsignificunt · 07/08/2018 10:42

Yay you have a free trailer of stuff! Stick it on Gumtree.

Bluelady · 07/08/2018 10:44

Dear God, does it really matter? Can you get your car in and out? If so, what on earth's wrong with you? The hot weather's brought all the drama queens out in force.

Aprilshowersinaugust · 07/08/2018 10:45

Have they got a company logo you could ring their head office? Or post pic and shame on fb?

Norma27 · 07/08/2018 10:46

Bluelady what about when op’s husband comes home and wants to park on his own drive? It is absolute cheeky rickety and she is not being a drama queen,
I would be bloody raging.

HolyMountain · 07/08/2018 10:46

Dear God, does it really matter?

Yes of course it matters! Hmm, a total stranger has taken it upon themself to park a vehicle on someone else's property without permission, of course it matters.

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 10:46

@bluelady we have two cars we cannot get two cars on the drive in our own home while the neighbours have their cars sitting in their driveway. It's their Builders, should be their problem not mine.
It's the principle of it and the level of ignorance.
Also, they are most likely to be here all week and I don't want to allow it. I shouldn't have someone else's property on my driveway when I'm coming in from work. They could potentially end up leaving it.

I take it you would be fine with It being I your driveway?

Norma27 · 07/08/2018 10:47

Cheeky fuckery not rickety!

PandaPolarBear · 07/08/2018 10:47

Bluelady, presumably the OP can get her car off the drive, and back on again... but where is her husband supposed to park when he gets back from work?

Strawberrybelly · 07/08/2018 10:47

I like the idea of pushing the trailer into the road.

SendYouUpInFlames · 07/08/2018 10:48

Diagram!

Usernom1234567890 · 07/08/2018 10:48

Ignore bluelady, her/ his thinking processes have been addled by the hot weather.
