Builders parked trailer on my drive

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 10:29

From 8am this morning there has been a trailer full of crap on my driveway parked next to my car, so as soon as dh has left for work they have took his space.
The neighbours across from us are having their garden done up and getting work done. What pisses me off even more is the neighbours car is in his driveway which he could have moved to let the builder twats in.
I have parked my car so that they find it hard to get into the trailer.
I don't want to block them in incase they leave it there overnight, assuming they will be here all week.
I've beeped the horn and nobody has came and I've chapped the door but nobody answering.
I am fucking raging.

do you know the company? Call them and tell them to call their guys out to move it or you will proceed with calling a tow company. CF's - as for the neighbours dont engage in an argument just let them know they are utterly ignorant calmly and then smile (that always winds people up).

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 11:16

I caught one of the builders and asked them to move it politely. He said not a bother but they are yet to move it. Nothing else I can do now then...dh home from work at 6 and said he will move it somehow if it's still there.
Thing is if the neighbours moved their cars and let them on the driveway the job would be done quicker and easier as it will be by their house. They have to walk on to my property to get their stuff. Bloody stupid.

@JacquesHammer I hope you find who is responsible and get them to move it. I really think there should be stricter rules for trespassing and parking on somebody's property, it's not on. It makes you feel unsettled in your own home.

Ooh I can hear noise I wonder if they are moving it. Scared to look lol

EduCated · 07/08/2018 11:19

Eh? Get back over and tell them it needs moving now.

Ilovemypantry · 07/08/2018 11:19

This is not acceptable OP. Keep on at the builders to move it...like every five minutes until they get so fed up with you they will just do it for a quiet life!

TheMaddHugger · 07/08/2018 11:19

Diagram ?

I wanna Diagram 😢

MsPavlichenko · 07/08/2018 11:20

myusernamewastakenbyme

Chapping the door is a Scottish expression.

CocoaGin70 · 07/08/2018 11:20

You so need a sign out there.

ABANDONED TRAILER FREE TO COLLECTOR

Bet it's soon shifted.

HolyMountain · 07/08/2018 11:20

Don't be scared, it’s your property.

Jaxhog · 07/08/2018 11:20

Talk to the builders or call the company if their name is on the trailer. If not, ask the neighbour politely for their details.

The neighbour may know nothing about it (unlikely, I know), so please don't go round there blaming them. Just be polite and say you need it removed. You need their co-operation at this point.

Can you assume this is a 'gift' from the builder? If so, you could sell it!

Jaxhog · 07/08/2018 11:22

If the builder doesn't remove it, tell him that you're planning to spray paint your car later today and would hate for the trailer to get sprayed too.

StealthNinjaMum · 07/08/2018 11:23

No! They can't move it. I was just settling in to a satisfying real time parking thread - had put the kettle on - and it might be over before page 4.

Bluelady · 07/08/2018 11:24

It's not my brain that's addled. Listen to yourselves. The drive will still be there when the trailer's gone and presumably DH's car isn't expected back for another five or so hours. You're deranged, the lot of you.

StealthNinjaMum · 07/08/2018 11:24

TheMaddHugger Me want diagram too. (even if the thread is nearly over).

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 11:25

They have moved it and then the builder came and apologised. I actually think the neighbour was at fault here because suddenly they have moved their cars off the driveway to get the trailer on.
The builders were very nice and polite so probably told to park there.

And yes I'm Scottish and I say chap the door.

How have you not spoken to your neighbours about this?!

RevRichardWayneGaryWayne · 07/08/2018 11:28

Ahh, dammit I was really hoping for some drama here....err...i mean... I'm glad it's sorted for you Elder!

FletcherRye · 07/08/2018 11:28

What a waste of my investment

PowerPlayed · 07/08/2018 11:29

Ah cross post - glad it's sorted 😊

HolyMountain · 07/08/2018 11:30

Grin not deranged bluelady, just won’t tolerate being taken for mugs.

SluttyButty · 07/08/2018 11:30

I can't believ3 the poster that thinks it's no big deal to casually park on someone else's property Shock
We had some cf last year park in one of our NUMBERED parking spaces that are next to our house. Never did find out who it was after days of it being left there, I just caught sight of a young bloke scurrying into it one morning and driving off. I was raging because there was visitor parking spaces free. So yes it didn't really cause us any problems, it was the cheeky fuckery of the person that made me mad 😡

serbska · 07/08/2018 11:30

All is well that ends well!

Elderflower78 · 07/08/2018 11:31

@bluelady so say your husband comes home from work and there is a strangers car in your drive and your husband has to use on street car parking, even though it's your bought home saying the driveway it's yours only, yet your husband is using on street parking to let everyone else use the driveway....then the neighbours visitors catch on that you let everyone park there so They join in too.
And say the trailer was on your driveway filled with heavy machinery and tools, damaging your monoblocking, is that fine too?
