To want a fan for each room?

Hubby thinks I'm mad. It's hot. I want to buy multiple fans - one for each bedroom and the living room. He says that'll make me crazy fan lady.

How many fans do you have in your house?

3 of these super fantastic things!

daisyinatree · 04/08/2018 20:17

YANBU. We have 2 in the lounge, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the dining room, and 1 in each bedroom.

You need them all in this chuffing heat and humidity!

topcat2014 · 04/08/2018 20:18

None, just keep the windows open at night.

daisyinatree · 04/08/2018 20:19

All 7 are not on all at once though. Prob no more than 2 or 3 at a time.

We have a prepayment meter, and are using 20p more leccie a day with the extra fans on. WELL worth it!!!

I8toys · 04/08/2018 20:19

We have 5. One for each bedroom and 1 for each living room. We all sleep with a fan even in winter! Anyone who doesn't have fans is mental imo!

I8toys · 04/08/2018 20:20

Also if we are driving on holiday such as France - we take them with us like an extra member of the family! :-)

Cheeseislife · 04/08/2018 20:23

We have two tall fans, a desktop one, a homedics tower fan, and an air conditioning unit. Lots of pets to keep cool as well as the humans!

LunaTrap · 04/08/2018 20:23

We have one in each of the bedrooms and 2 in the living room. It's unbearable here without them on.

Perfectly1mperfect · 04/08/2018 20:34

6 fans here. Best purchase ever, bedroom ones stay on all night at the moment. I don't think I would cope without them.

I would just buy them and accept the title of crazy fan lady ! Grin

mummc2 · 04/08/2018 20:44

We have 3, kids have one each I’m their room next to bed we have a tower one for our room - Dh always hot!!
We are fine with all windows open downstairs
I’d say but away as many as you need to feel comfy

Popsicle434544 · 04/08/2018 20:46

Everyone in our home has a fan to sleep with so 7 in bed rooms, 1 in playrrom and 3 large turbo fans , 1 In kitchen and 1 in each of our reception rooms.

Never thought about it but that's alot Grin

Pikehau · 04/08/2018 20:50

YANBU I am crazy fan lady - just had 4 nsa fans delivered one for each bedroom and they are downstairs in the daytime.

Sadly all the ones under £100 sold out but they delivered within 48 hours. And we love them!!

chezare84 · 04/08/2018 20:57

Absolutely not! I’m originally from a tropical climate and this is the norm. It baffles me that so many british people seem afraid of buying a fan, even after 2 months of this hellish heat. Living in denial perhaps? ‘Opening a window’ doesn’t cut it I’m afraid

VeryHangryCaterpillar · 04/08/2018 21:05

I don’t get why you wouldn’t just move them around? We have 2 which are in the bedrooms at night and in the living spaces during the day. Given you only really need them for a few months of the year it must be a massive PITA to store them the rest of the time unless everyone else on this thread lives in mansions!

Stephisaur · 04/08/2018 21:06

We have the same fan as @mehaveit it really is brilliant!

We currently have that one and a dyson fan in the bedroom (currently pregnant so been given my own fan for my side of bed!) and we have a broken spare fan that moves room with us. Unfortunately it no longer oscillates but will do in a pinch.

I am in support of ALL the fans 😂

Not in my town. Everything under £200 has been sold out for over a month.

Johnnycomelately1 · 04/08/2018 21:10

I'm getting ceiling fans installed throughout over the winter- I am more excited than I should be about this.

Furrydogmum · 04/08/2018 21:11

1 in every room apart from mine which has 2 (it's my age!) 9 in total.

GinPink · 04/08/2018 21:30

I just showed the thread to my husband and was like 'SEE!!! WE MUST BUY MANY MANY FANS!!!!'

Lemonyknickers · 04/08/2018 21:37

Ceiling fans! Hard to get ones that don't look like they've been stolen from the set of Tenko but so worth it. We use the ones in the bed room virtually all year but live on a busy road so not fond of having windows open too much

SilverHairedCat · 04/08/2018 21:46

Ceiling fab in bedroom here. Best. Thing. Ever.

SilverHairedCat · 04/08/2018 21:46

Fan. But it is fab.

AlonsosLeftPinky · 04/08/2018 21:48

There's a couple knocking about but we have air con.

Astrid2 · 04/08/2018 21:54

I've never needed fans in the living spaces but definitely need them in the bedroom. Not moving, directed right into the bed. Bliss.

Why 18toys ?
Why wouldn’t you just dial the heating back a bit rather than paying to heat it too hot, then paying more to cool yourself back down?
