Excessive bleeding and passing blood clots after cervical biopsy - I need a hand hold, please.

Sorry, this is definitely TMI but I'm all alone and a bit scared.
I had a cervical biopsy and colposcopy this morning and now, 7 hours later I'm still bleeding non-stop and passing, what I presume, are huge blood clots (looks like raw liver).
The gynaecologist didn't tell me to expect this so I don't know if it's normal or not.
I'm home alone with no sanitary pads so I'm just sitting on the toilet most of the time. I've had to put wads of kitchen towel in my knickers when I need to move about but withing seconds its soaked through.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, please tell me its nothing to worry about.

Rachie1986 makes a very good point!

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:38

Yes, definitely will do after this is sorted. You never think you'll need it though do you? Silly and thoughtless of both of us!

Can you look up the hospital and send them an email. You can always use google translate

HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 16:46

You must sign yourselves up with a dentist too. Hope you are feeling better.Flowers

Andtheresaw · 03/08/2018 16:59

more than a pad an hour for more than 3 hours means you are losing too much blood and need emergency treatment. That is all.
I can't advise you how to get that treatment but that is what you need. Good luck. Hope you are OK.

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 17:11

purplecorkheart Excellent idea! I've just sent an email, thank you Flowers

Out of interest, which language is it? One of us might be able to speak it??

Totally understand if it's too outing though.

daisyinatree · 03/08/2018 17:48

@DBN1 Oh gosh, I hope you're OK.

How's it going? Hope you have got the help you need, and are OK soon!

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 18:44

Sorry, the electric went off for a while (as per).
I padded my knickers out and put dark, loose trousers on and took a swift ride to the shop for pads. By the time I got back (10 minutes max') my undercarriage and tops of thighs were covered and as soon as I got on the loo loads of clots fell out.
No response from the hospital re: my email.
Only 4 or so hours until my husband is home....

Winniesalot Thanks so much but I'd rather not say where I am unless I really have to. I hope you understand Flowers

Can you get back out on the bike to get help from a neighbour or from the shop, 4 hours is a long time to wait for d.h. and you will feel very weak if you are bleeding that much. Are you on any medication at all. I know this might sound grim but have you been measuring how much you think you might be bleeding.

brummiesue · 03/08/2018 19:46

Im a gynae hcp, your thread started at 15.15 and you are still heavy bleeing with large clots now? You need to go to hospital to have your cervix cauterised. Do you not have ambulances where you are? I think you need to get into contact with someone via the internet - facebook a friend or something - and get them to phone an ambulance for you. Your body may not be able to cope with another 4hrs of that type of bleeding, you could become very unwell.

Pikehau · 03/08/2018 19:59

@DBN1 I don’t normally comment on health threads as know nothing but after what brummiesue said please let us know you are ok and also I hope you have found a way to get help xx

HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 20:42

Hope you're ok. Flowers

sexnotgender · 03/08/2018 22:08

Hope you're ok or being seen in hospital!

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 22:14

I'm laying on the bedroom floor as I don't want to ruin the bed. No let up in bleeding or clots. Husband should be home in about an hour then I think I must go to the hospital as I really don't feel well now. I desperately want to sleep but know I'll need to get to the loo to change pad every 5 minutes

they must have ambulances where you live? surely?

let someone call for help for you, you could die.

Beeziekn33ze · 03/08/2018 22:35

Can you put your feet up on the bed? It may slow the bleeding. If you have towels or even sheets put them under yourself and try to stay still and calm. I hope you soon have your husband with you.

Newtothis2017 · 03/08/2018 22:41

Please find a way to contact the hospital and get an ambulance. This is a lot of bleeding and you need to be seen

SinkGirl · 03/08/2018 22:49

I’m really worried for you OP - if the shop is near can you get on your scooter there and ask them to call you an ambulance? This is so much bleeding and can be very serious. I worried your husband could end up delayed and you could be seriously ill by then. Do you have neighbours close by?

magpie24 · 03/08/2018 22:51

Call am ambulance. Google translate how to say it in the language that is local where you are and then call around your neighbours (all of them) and ask them to call for you, now. I hope you get better soon.

BlueTongueSkink · 03/08/2018 22:55

I am also v worried for you OP. Please get to a hospital if you can. Tell us if we can help you somehow.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 03/08/2018 22:56

Are you okay, OP?
