Excessive bleeding and passing blood clots after cervical biopsy - I need a hand hold, please.

Sorry, this is definitely TMI but I'm all alone and a bit scared.
I had a cervical biopsy and colposcopy this morning and now, 7 hours later I'm still bleeding non-stop and passing, what I presume, are huge blood clots (looks like raw liver).
The gynaecologist didn't tell me to expect this so I don't know if it's normal or not.
I'm home alone with no sanitary pads so I'm just sitting on the toilet most of the time. I've had to put wads of kitchen towel in my knickers when I need to move about but withing seconds its soaked through.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, please tell me its nothing to worry about.

Oh sorry OP. Cross post.

HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 15:50

Can you send emails on your phone, get onto your dh site, Facebook someone.

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 15:50

Can you plug the scooter in end charge it up enough to knock on someone's door, even a shop or a bar, to call for help I think if its not eased up in a few hours I might have to.

I had the same following a colposcopy. It was scary but it did sort itself out. However you should not be alone and you should get advice from your doctor. Your DH really needs to come home. Didn’t any of the doctors or nurses who, looked after you speak English? In the UK there is a translation line for patients and doctors, perhaps there is something similar where you are?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/08/2018 15:52

Can you use Skype to call someone?

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 15:56

We've only lived in this village for a month or so and aside from the guy at the nearest (15 minutes away) mini-market I don't know anyone. He doesn't speak any English either!
If it carries on this bad I'll have to Facebook someone in the UK to try and call my husband. He can't leave work early though (his company provides transport for employees at the end of the shift) and is an hour away from home by road.
I'm going to try to get off the loo again....

Do you want one of us to call him and ask him to contact you via email or Skype?

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 15:59

Didn’t any of the doctors or nurses who, looked after you speak English? The gynaecologist speaks a little bit if English but for some reason today the only words he spoke to me were to tell me that the lesion looks very bad. That was it! I didn't even know I was going to have this today - we just went for my smear results.

Can you text your husband?

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:02

Do you want one of us to call him and ask him to contact you via email or Skype What a very kind offer Flowers There's no WiFi where he is though. What a friggin pickle!

If nothing else, this has made me realise that I do need to treat myself to a new bloody mobile phone!

OP posts:
SnowyAlps · 03/08/2018 16:04

Can't he phone calls where he is?
I really feel for you x

SnowyAlps · 03/08/2018 16:05

Missed out accept*

HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 16:16

We can send your dh a message if you like, you could give us his email address or his f.b page.

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:19

SnowyAlps All phones are supposed to be turned off but sometimes he just leaves it on vibrate. If I could get someone to call him and he did manage to answer he can't call anyone because his phone credit ran out 2 days ago.
Oh god, the troll hunters will be on soon! You couldn't make this up!

OP posts:
HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 16:19

Would you like one of us to contact the hospital on your behalf, does your phone accept incoming calls or can you message them.

SnowyAlps · 03/08/2018 16:19

Or we could call him and ask him to come home or phone for a doctor to come out to you? Sorry just thinking of what we can do for you x

HoleyCoMoley · 03/08/2018 16:21

It won't matter if his credit ran out, he can get incoming calls and emergency outgoing calls, surely someone can lend him a bit of money to top up. What country are you in, it sounds a bit rural.

missinghome123 · 03/08/2018 16:21

What language does the doctor speak? Maybe someone could call the hospital on your behalf and translate?

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:24

Anyway, I'm off the loo! Grin I've found some wet(wish) wipes and some panty liners (stupidly gave away all my sanitary pads when we moved as I don't need them anymore...or so I thought!) and I've changed into a fresh pair of Knicks and shoved loads of kitchen towel down there too. That should hopefully see me right for 5 minutes.
I feel that laying down might help but I'm worried about bleeding all over the bedding or what will rush out of me when I get up again!

Thanks everyone, I'm far calmer now than I was before I started this thread Flowers

Not only do you need a new phone but you need some sort of communication network too!!!
I really hope things settle soon

SnowyAlps · 03/08/2018 16:29

Glad you a bit better. If at any time you want any of us to do something, just ask, we'll figure out something among us WinkI'll keep checking in, or fell free to PM me. X

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:30

The gynae department will be closed now and I don't know anyone that can speak on my behalf apart from my husband.

Very rural, I'm watching the goats grazing in the field next door at the moment.

Doctors don't do house calls here.

I'm going to give it a while longer, I'm really not so panicky now I've you lovely bunch supporting me.

DBN1 · 03/08/2018 16:32

Thanks so much Snowy, that's good to know Flowers
