I think, anyway! Not sure now! So I'll put it to the MN jury...and I'll happily apologize, because I have the ability to own my shit.

Chatting to a friend about going out tonight (after the week I've had, I bloody deserve it!)

She started on a massive stretch about me claiming PIP to "piss it up the wall", I obviously need the disposible income, etc, etc. It was really bitchy!

She's made catty comments in the past, but tbh I thought that was down to me- I have a weird sense of humor, and take the piss out of myself all the time. But never like this.

She said that, if I was independant enough to go out alone (I'll be meeting a friend, but eill be making my own way) I shouldn't be claiming Personal INDEPENDANCE Payment, and that "I'm what's wrong with the government atm!

I sent her a REALLY sarky text in reply, but it's made me doubt myself!

I need to calm down...

Lol, pays for, of course. Must proofread. I’ve read the full thread now Radley, you’re awesome

Littlechocola · 05/08/2018 16:57

‘Ha! Does he, like me, assume that, because he finds something funny, so will everyone else?’

Yes! And he will repeat his latest joke/statement (whatever has tickled him) until he gets a chuckle from others. I admit to fake laughing at times although usually I’m laughing at his quirky sense of humour.

SargeantAngua · 05/08/2018 18:21

We spend all our lives trying to prove we CAN do things, and it seems unnatural to then fill out a form saying we can't!

Yes! Causes me so much upset filling those forms out. This is just my life, having to spell it out with an emphasis on the negative can be soul destroying. I'm trying to make the best of it not focus on the bad stuff. Thankfully I've done well with PIP and ESA up to now but it's still a horrible process. PIP keeps me in scooter batteries, and therefore able to play Pokemon go Wink

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 05/08/2018 18:26

I told DH about you playing PG on your scooter...him and both of my kids now think you rock! 😁

OP posts:
SargeantAngua · 05/08/2018 19:14

He he thank you Smile I don't think I do but scooter and I have fun together. DP likes setting me "stunt scooting "challenges such as up a down travellater a few months ago (it was very very quiet, no risk to anyone I promise, and of necessary I could have stopped and backed off) and we found out the hard way that if I scoot down a slightly steep grassy slope the brakes don't work. That one was a bit scary, but funny too. Oh and the floors in B&Q are super for skids (again only when it's quiet) I am a careful driver, have been complimented on my driving in tight spaces, but there is fun to be had too Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 05/08/2018 22:09

Pokemon Go on a mobility scooter. I now wish I had one. 😂

SargeantAngua · 05/08/2018 23:21

Gotta catch 'em all Grin It does the job, sometimes I'm kindly asked if I'm ok when sitting on my scooter in random places staring at my phone (one time it was snowing...), I've made friends with local cats on my little route, but I'm slightly wary of dogs since a male terrier decided my foot plate and wheel needed "hosing down" one day while i was concentrating too hard on the pokemon!!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 05/08/2018 23:47

This is totally random...

I probably should start a new thread...

BUT I have like three going already, sooooo...

How to make this-

More Christmassy, please?

As DH has just asked me if I'd like to renew our wedding vows...and I said yes!

I'm thinking some sort of naff tubular bell thingy at the beginning, and a few decending octaves (bells? Harp? Whaaaaat????) throughout the song.

Very heavy harmonies.

OHHHHHH....I know what I mean, even if you don't! (Welcome to Aspieland 😁)

Inspire me please?

OP posts:
Queenofthestress · 06/08/2018 09:18

Definitely harp not bells! The bells will completely clash if they're a lower pitch, unless you go for just above a c flat, so not too high but not too low

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 09:40

Queenof another muso?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 06/08/2018 10:56

Angua (love her by the way) 😂 at people asking if you're okay, and yuck at dogs hosing down your footplate and wheels!

Thinkingofausername1 · 06/08/2018 11:06

I don't think it's friends business if you are on benefits. You have it for a reason. I don't tell friends about it, particularly people who don't understand my situation. I would leave her to it now.

BlackeyedSusan · 06/08/2018 11:16

You are being selfish op. two disabilities? That is just greedy! [Sarcastic]

PS hope you did not thrown the phone after the first 6 words....

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 11:22

Blackeyed read the lot...

I am the queen of sarcasm...

And impossible to offend!

What about violin? Look at some off Lindsey sterling's pieces, the more I think about it the more I think some of her pieces slowed down would be perfect

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 12:22

I can't play the vile din violin...may be able to find someone wbo can though!

@AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley

No psychopaths this end! One starting uni to do law, wants to be a solicitor (mad!!) and the other is going down the science roots.

Yes they help more at home than other teen boys, for example they can both easily cook an evening meal like lasagne etc from scratch, strip and make their beds, dust hoover, clean the kitchen and bathroom along with the normal fill and empty the dishwasher and washing machine etc. So I think in some regards it’s turned them into resourceful young men!

They still have their friends, their football and rugby. The eldest his girlfriend of 4 years. He’s now started going to the pub with friends and I get at least two calls a night to check I’m ok- which is quite funny when he’s drunk!

They still have friends over to stay and eat me out of house and home! All their friends know that if they are hungry to help themselves the only rule is they clear up after themselves.

I’m lucky I still have ace relationships with both their dads who will help me with anything I need. I also have a new partner (early days), which throws up some interesting meetings. For example he came over, my eldests dad popped up to get up and youngest dad dropped him off. So they are all sat in the living room drinking coffee and talking about work, and my friend stopped by. She cournerd me in the kitchen to tell me how odd it was! For who? Her? Because it’s our norm🤷🏻‍♀️Whatever! Lol

I’ll come back to this- need to fill in my PIP review and get it off this PM.😩wish me luck everyone......

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 12:49

Snowy keep us posted!

My two sometimes go JUST out of my line of vision to do something they shouldn't...😁

Zippea · 06/08/2018 12:55

I get PIP and I work part time (although not too sure how much longer I will be working for to be honest). For the time being, I’m just trying to live the best independent life I can.

I’d ditch the friend as you have - she isn’t a friend. I’ve ditched a friend as she used to tell me I could get better if I really tried. It was funny at first, but there was no amount of re-education that could put her nonsense right.

ValleyClouds · 06/08/2018 13:05

I claim PIP, and used to claim DLA, in the changeover I received the correct amount of "points" and was happy with the assessment , I was still £10 a month worse off afterwards

You are not misusing your PIP at all.

You have not been a twat, this person has.

If I could count the amount of times someone has been a twat to me about DLA/PIP, something to which I am legally entitled and which is notoriously difficult to claim I'd be very rich.

Particularly during the last round of cuts to services numerous professionals didn't see why I couldn't pay for the previously free service they were removing "because you can pay from your DLA"

Yes because that money is an infinite resource that goes on endlessly and isn't already over-committed elsewhere you giant knobjockey

Goth237 · 06/08/2018 13:12

Oh please, OP. You never thought you were a 'twat'. You knew you were in the right and just wanted sympathy and attention for what happened. Well, you got it. All the attention and sympathy for you.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 06/08/2018 13:16

Goth thanks for bringing the whole thread down. Hmm

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 13:29

Thank you for my sympathy and attention, Goth!

In return, please accept this Twat Award from the Poor Little Blind Girl!

Mwah!
