I think, anyway! Not sure now! So I'll put it to the MN jury...and I'll happily apologize, because I have the ability to own my shit.

Chatting to a friend about going out tonight (after the week I've had, I bloody deserve it!)

She started on a massive stretch about me claiming PIP to "piss it up the wall", I obviously need the disposible income, etc, etc. It was really bitchy!

She's made catty comments in the past, but tbh I thought that was down to me- I have a weird sense of humor, and take the piss out of myself all the time. But never like this.

She said that, if I was independant enough to go out alone (I'll be meeting a friend, but eill be making my own way) I shouldn't be claiming Personal INDEPENDANCE Payment, and that "I'm what's wrong with the government atm!

I sent her a REALLY sarky text in reply, but it's made me doubt myself!

I need to calm down...

I've been in stitches on this thread. Kids keep asking why I'm making a weird shape with my face. Apparently I don't smile that much 😳. Hate hate hate dla forms. Two autistic adhd kids who claim it and dread it all the time. Not sure why dwp think they will magically not be autistic in two years time.

As I'm a carer I claim all the benefits and don't work. It's possible I'd be entitled to PIP myself because I have ME, fibro, depression and possibly OTS myself. And I'm pretty sure I've adhd but as an adult getting a dx is impossible. We have enough money and as a carer I don't have to be a job seeker so I don't see the point in putting myself through all the stress of a PIP form and assessment. Don't need someone who has no clue telling me I'm absolutely fine.

Happy birthday PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks It's a good week to have a birthday - mine is on Saturday!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 13/08/2018 12:59

ohtheholidays you're surrounded by arseholes. With that list, how do they expect you to go anywhere without using a disabled bay? It's not called an "elderly bay". Hmm

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 05:20

YeTalk but apparently it's good for executive function. It does fuck all for mine though. I have 2 normal and 1 large coffee a day, sometimes a 500ml bottle of Coke too, and I still can't think or remember shit. I've just discovered the Google Assistant. I've asked her to remind me to apply for a secondary school place for DD, or I will forget! 😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 05:24

A classic from my aunt when I mentioned that our family coach is going to refer DD to CAMHS because she may be OTS: "We're all on the spectrum." No "we're" fucking not. Hold me back. 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 05:26

Ooh happy birthday for Saturday Angua! 🎁🎂🎈🎊🎉 And thanks! 😆

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 05:29

Love the hair Rad! Specs are cool too! I've got those really old fashioned narrow ones, I should go to the opticians, but I have to pay for my complicated lenses. I have astigmatism.

Pretenditsaplan · 14/08/2018 08:19

Going back to the sunglasses thing. Its because theyre usually at the bottom of your humungous bag and takes you 10 mins to find them ny which time the suns gone in. ;-p clear reactions you wear all the time makes much more sense when your you.

YeTalkShiteHen · 14/08/2018 08:21

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks is it? It doesn’t help mine either but without it Im grumpy as hell 😂

Radley your hair is awesome!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 08:28

Pretend 😂 is that true?

Yes YeTalk zzzzz told me on an autism thread. Apparently, it doesn't work for everyone. Obviously, not us! 😂

YeTalkShiteHen · 14/08/2018 08:32

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks ah I was on that thread under my old username! I knew I recognised yours! I was SoddingUnicorns at the time!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 14/08/2018 08:44

@Pretend I need a humungous bag to balance my butt!

BaaaPlop Grin

Oh my arse needs it’s own postcode these days! I’m half Spanish so always had an arse but 3 bairns has made it go nuclear Wink

Pretenditsaplan · 14/08/2018 08:53

Yep completly true!

rad dont make me get the sheep dip!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 14/08/2018 09:00

Sodding!!!!!!!!! (((hugs))) I think you also gave me an excellent recommendation for Next girls' school shorts on another thread. DD loved them! Thanks! 😆

youarenotkiddingme · 14/08/2018 09:02

Obviously VERY late to this.

Don't know if she claims but my mum was advised to claim PIP when she started chemo. She's just started her second round.

My parents are not short of a few bob! But there ARE financial implications of her illness.

YeTalkShiteHen · 14/08/2018 09:04

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks yes I did, I’m so glad she likes them Smile

DD starts on Thursday (mainstream with support) and DS1 begins high school the same day. His transport still isn’t sorted, and they’re being twitchy and not reassuring me at all!!!

His best friend has a driver who can’t understand English, and the taxi company wouldn’t understand that it wasn’t his mum being racist when she raised concerns, it was that anyone escorting children with a communication disorder should be able to understand and communicate with them!!!

I’m going to call again in a minute and see if they can sort out times for mornings at least and just pray that DS1 will be ok getting in a taxi with a stranger. Sad I’ve got DD to get to school and DS2 to get to nursery and I need to work out timings or my brain is going to explode as all 3 are in different towns Confused

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 14/08/2018 09:04

youarenot it's not means-tested. And, well off or not, there are costs involved with having a disabillity/illness. She'll lose nothing by claiming.

OP posts:
YeTalkShiteHen · 14/08/2018 09:05

youarenotkiddingme hi!

Aye my mum was told the same, because the cost of getting to and from treatment and all the other unseen costs were a factor.

youarenotkiddingme · 14/08/2018 09:15

Yeah my ds is on DLA.

I was just pointing out claims are for a variety of reasons.

I bet if she did claim and people did find out they'd have something to say as they own a 330k house (no mortgage) have masses of savings and mum still works 2 days a week.

Oh, and they holiday 3-5 times a year including a month in France.

It amazes me some people would begrudge her PIP.

Yet she's having to cram a whole retirement into a few years whilst she's still here to do it Grin

YeTalkShiteHen · 14/08/2018 09:16

Aye I’m sure people would judge, it put my Mum off claiming. Sad

Judgy twats should just wind their necks in I reckon, would make the world a nicer place!
