I think, anyway! Not sure now! So I'll put it to the MN jury...and I'll happily apologize, because I have the ability to own my shit.

Chatting to a friend about going out tonight (after the week I've had, I bloody deserve it!)

She started on a massive stretch about me claiming PIP to "piss it up the wall", I obviously need the disposible income, etc, etc. It was really bitchy!

She's made catty comments in the past, but tbh I thought that was down to me- I have a weird sense of humor, and take the piss out of myself all the time. But never like this.

She said that, if I was independant enough to go out alone (I'll be meeting a friend, but eill be making my own way) I shouldn't be claiming Personal INDEPENDANCE Payment, and that "I'm what's wrong with the government atm!

I sent her a REALLY sarky text in reply, but it's made me doubt myself!

I need to calm down...

Its not you thats the complete twunt. Is her. Lose her. Someone who is jealous of you is not What you need.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 06/08/2018 18:56

Queen how long can you forget about it for now?

OP posts:
Home2018 · 06/08/2018 19:14

OP you are hilarious 😁 Fuck her and don't doubt yourself!

SargeantAngua · 06/08/2018 19:41

Realised I never answered the original aibu. She's no friend!

scooter driver problems - when you realise your strappy top doesn't provide quite enough coverage for you to go round the supermarket seated below people's eyelines! Glad I brought a cardigan... DP likes the view but I wasn't showing the whole supermarket!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 06/08/2018 19:51

😂

Queenofthestress · 06/08/2018 19:53

I have no idea, I find out next week, rang today and they've sent it to the higher ups to approve the high rate care, I have Jack Daniels to celebrate tonight!
Not like I can have more than one drink, but it's the thought that counts haha!

SargeantAngua · 06/08/2018 19:57

Fingers crossed for you Queen

Queenofthestress · 06/08/2018 20:14

I might actually cry if we get it, those forms are horrific and I could have bawled then we got the ed psych report afterwards and that definitely made me cry, good thing he doesn't know he's unique!

SnowyAlps · 06/08/2018 20:43

The forms are just shit though. Although when I first applied I had an at home assessment and my assessor was such a nice bloke. Ex paramedic. But he knew about each of my diagnosis and seemed to understand exactly what I was facing. Would love to have him again. I know so many aren’t that lucky with theirs.

Queenofthestress · 06/08/2018 20:49

I've had to explain to atleast one paed what global developmental delay is, usually the reviews go something like -
No nothings changed
No he still can't use a fork or knife, hell he can barely use a spoon
No he still can't talk properly
No he still isn't fully potty trained
Then that's it, it gets depressing

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 07/08/2018 20:31

Did you manage to get it all filled in?

OP posts:
ifancyagreencard · 07/08/2018 20:47

@allroads

Was thinking about your thread earlier today when remembering an event some years ago.

Was collecting DD from babysitting late on a Friday. As we walked home, three women plus a guide dog approached. Clearly 3 friends / colleagues on a night out; it must have been a good one as they were all royally shitfaced. DD and I watched in awe as the dog took them home. God only knows how they’d have got home without him Grin

Thanks for all you’ve done on this thread to both advise and cheer up other MNrs!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 07/08/2018 21:02

Hero Guide dog!!!! That's mint!!

Is it ok to try to keep it going in the hope that others will find it? A thread full of piss-taking, funny support?

OP posts:
AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 07/08/2018 21:03

Oh...and attention seeking, sympathetic lego of course!

OP posts:
Queenofthestress · 08/08/2018 01:48

I did indeed, took me nearly a week put I got there in the end, should find out what rate he's getting within the next week, then I can sort out driving lessons and a car because bloody hell getting him anywhere is a nightmare

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 08/08/2018 05:56

Phew! Stupid question- did you make a copy of the form before you mailed it? (Sorry if I sound patronizing- I actually forgot! Luckily I had notes I'd written before I filled out the form).

OP posts:
SnowyAlps · 08/08/2018 07:37

I didnt make a photocopy, but wrote it in ‘rough’ first. Ironically I found my first one from a few years ago yesterday! Sod’s law! Would have saved me so much time on trying to remember dates etc. As it is they match up, as I had only put years, not mouths and years etc.

Just that horrible waiting game again!! 😫

Queenofthestress · 08/08/2018 08:12

....I didn't Blush
I have my notes and the copy I filled out in rough before doing on the electronic form, I had to do the electronic one because there wasn't enough room on the paper one Angry
Good luck to the poor sucker that's got to read it though because the more you write the more the text shrinks Grin

Queenofthestress · 08/08/2018 08:14

Currently for the kids DLA renewals it's 8 - 11 weeks, it'll have been 2 months on the 16th of this month since they received it

MarklahMarklah · 08/08/2018 09:40

I'm here for the sarcasm, dark humour and PIP hints.
I'm not disabled, or AS but a good friend of mine is. He's recently been reassessed and had his car taken back because he can walk 20 metres (scaled down from 50). He has palsy, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorders (though the last three might only have manifested since knowing me), osteoporosis and a spinal injury. Oh, and PTSD. But he can walk & talk so they've dropped his counselling and pain clinic too.
I don't know yet when he's due to be reassessed but I would like to be able to help him to sponge some more money out of the government when the time comes.

Queenofthestress · 08/08/2018 09:41

Has he asked for a reconsideration?

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 08/08/2018 09:45

Anyone here with autism, as a "borderline autistic", is it worth my claiming PIP? Confused

MarklahMarklah · 08/08/2018 09:58

Queen , I don't know. The revised PIP coming into play coincided with something else (legal case still underway) which he is involved in, and may have to give evidence in person for. The trauma of having to make a statement (and initially having been disbelieved) has eclipsed anything else.
It doesn't help that where he lives, MH support is shite.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 08/08/2018 10:40

'There is no disability as debilitating as being a total unmitigated wanker'!

Brilliant Grin! Spat my coffee out over that one!

Love this thread.... Reminds me of the lost voice guy on BGT (I'm only in it for the parking...)

A random PIP/ESA form tip

  • I type all of my answers, print and just write "please see additional sheets" in every box. I do it because it takes a long time for me to answer all the questions a bit at a time every day due to fatigue etc and means I can get someone to read it through and I can make changes as I go along. It also then means when the next form comes through I have a full set of previous answers to change/reuse as necessary.

I've not done an online form but couldn't you type separately and copy and paste answers in so you've a saved copy?
